Hello A.

Perhaps it would be best for you to be impolite directly to Port as this
forum is for and about woodturning. To air a personal problem between
you two is not appropriate for this ng and probably of little interest
to most. At worst it's divisive.

I assume you are interested in the craft since you posted to rcw, and
I'm sure all here would welcome informative input about woodturning from
you. Lighten up and join in, you'll live longer and happier.

My mother always told me that if I didn't have something good to say, to
say nothing.

I'm saying to you: it would be good to say nothing. I don't think most
of us want to hear your personal gripes. And, if I'm not mistaken, this

Ken,

Funny, your English has never been a problem before. I thought that was
standard fare down in NZ. You do speak it kinda funny though. g
Course, you might say the same about me! So if not English, what is
your native tongue?

The charter of this group specifically allows on-topic commercial posts
bi-weekly (every other week anyway- I think that's what we call
bi-weekly. I always get it mixed up with twice a week.) Anyway, that
was specifically done so that the r.c.w denizens could keep abreast of
new tool developments and sources. You're more than welcome to post
polite adverts here, on that schedule. As long as they are w/in the
approved time frame and format (text - no photos) then I'll defend your
right to do so.

I have to take exception however to the unprovoked slam on folks here,
accusing them of having 'child like minds'. Obviously you don't mean
all of us, but to come out swinging like that just smacks of flame bait.

If a vendor, whether on the internet or in person, has an attitude, I
walk. Life's too short and there's always other options. If one wants
my business it takes more than a good product. I expect to be treated
with respect, and I expect to see others treated with respect. It's up
to you how you want to present yourself, but you'll catch more bees with
honey than vinegar.

There's plenty of folks here that need genuine help (or they wouldn't be
posting!) so feel free to chime in anytime with answers. The more you
participate in a non-commercial manner, the less likely folks will take
offense at your commercial posts. Some you'll never win over. That's
life. Others may become loyal customers. I think of many of the folks
that have been posting here over the years as "good friends that I've
never met". Most people will probably fall into that group, and you
know, that's not a bad thing at all...

himself.
As for the unsigned post it is unimportant for you to know who I am but I an
sure ken can work out which one of Gorgi's friends I am.

Its impossible for me to defend myself against these accusations because the
person will not state his name and address as he may come against court
litigation for the defamatory remarks. I have the right to communicate
through this forum without this sort of nonsense. Regarding the Unijig the
original idea belonged to Gerry Glaser from LA and my innovative
improvements now carry a valid USA Patent & a current NZ Patent application,
so who's stolen what?? Lets face it the best product always wins anyway.

I wondered about the patents after checking both sites and only seeing a
mention of them on your site. I did see an "A" name on the Unijig site,
but since the other poster won't give a name, or valid e-mail addy, it's
a bit hard to give him much credence. Saying that we have no "need to
know" who he is shows a level of moral cowardice that is insulting. If
he's telling the truth, he has nothing to fear in court, if he is lying,
he should slink off.

Dave, I am not lying, Ken has admitted the facts he has also seen Unijig 1
to 4, The patents were applied for here in AUS but the cost of doing so here
and the projected income from sales made it prohibitive.
Ken has enough information to deduce who I am so if he wants to bring a law
suite go ahead ken, if you can't quite work out who I am ask Gorgi who
defends him the most.

The reason I don't use my real name on USENET is once bitten twice shy,
there are many cooks out there who have used my details and it has cost me
dearly in $$$ and time to recover my identity
The Australian Patent was pending and if needed I can post the application
number which preceeds ken by many years and he knows this, ken is not to be
trusted.

The name in the Unijig site is not me, but if you contact the webmaster it
should find me.

Let's face facts: Nobody have the right to post on Usenet "without this sort
of nonsense", because nobody has the right to stop the spreaders of
nonsense,
it seems.

Your consolation should be, that nobody takes very seriously a poster
who mainly serves abuse and bad language, and many people are already
quite happy with your products, like me.

I think we all have received your message, and I doubt that anything
else you have to say is going to sway anyone's opinion on the matter.
Perhaps then you could take the matter to court and fight over it there
rather than bitching about it on this newsgroup.

There is actually a lesson to be learnt here for any other inventors. If
you have a good idea but you cannot afford to properly patent it, and
defend it in court, then consider licensing the idea to someone who
does. It's a sad state of affairs I must admit, but it is how the world
works.
