He owes you a public apology. Post what you said. I don't have to look up your apology. Don't try and wiggle out now! About three minutes after I wrote (humorously, I had hoped): "My ruling is that Stormie owes HeyBub an apology for calling him a Nazi. -That was uncalled for" Stormie did indeed apologize. He changed the name of the thread and added (and who is mistaken?), which is why you might not have seen it but he did write this: Like I say, sometimes subtle distinctions don't quite register in my mind. Aparently, Godwins refers to the MENTION of Nazis, not the calling someone a N-word. I aparently got that wrong. That said, I'm starting to figure out that you didn't refer to name calling, and I was mistaken. Anyhow, sorry for calling you a N-word, that was clearly a mistake on my part. As much as I've chided SM for violating the 9th commandment about bearing false witness, I had to post this in the interest of truth and fairness and a slight fear of violating the same commandment on Easter Sunday. Was it a real apology? Added the "and who is mistaken" could give a person doubts, but it was there. Stormie's subsequent posts most likely reflected feelings of have his apology rejected. I know I have reacted the same way when an apology was not accepted. In this case, because of the thread name changes, there's no telling where it showed up, though and it could have easily been missed. It would be great if in the name of Passover and Easter both men could just cease and desist. In the interests of fairness, Richard, also called a Nazi, deserves an apology as well. This is what comes of starting off-topic, cross-posted political threads. There's one than one lesson here. -- Bobby G. |

Who is it? (Apology to the lists)
One of the shorcomings of text only lists such as this. The emotional
content, inflection, and level of intensity doesn't come through very well. I've had many moments, such as this, when I make a mistake, and then totally misread the reply, and make more mistakes. Thus inflaming a situation. Please know that I meant no offense. I know what it is like to want to offend someone, and I have not done so, yet, on this list. It should be obvious to those who read my posts, that I have very poor social skills. This was noted by various counsellors, teachers, school officials, neighbors, etc. I won't go into a lot of detail, but it's been a concern all my life. In any case, many of you readers are courteous, adept, graceful, and on topic. My lack of grace has led to an uproar. The bad feelings and upset have interfered with your day, and have not brought peace and love into your lives. To you, gentle readers, I am quite sorry. Please accept my heartfelt apology. I also ask your forgiveness in advance, as I'm sure to write something clumsy again, and again. To those who continue to attack, revile, curse, name call, etc. I hope that some day you find peace within your self, and are able to live in harmony with others. Christopher A.
