Thanks, I forgot about trimming that one before I sent it.......

Still, big ****ing deal....big stuff = big bucks...in not in engineering
then in rigging it in etc.......but then there is the attendant risk,
definately not for everybody........

.....AND....

Nothing wrong with picking any of the various arena in which to do your main
business in, so long as you always try your damndest to do your level best.

And if truth be told, IMO anyone that's motivated to try and accumulate as
much wealth as he possibly can...regardless of the cost to humanity...is
****ing sick in the head.

There comes some point where it becomes ludicrous. I mean,
after first few hundred million dollars, or your first couple of
billion...... what is actually the point ??? Other than jerking off
over numbers on a monthly statement, what exactly do you DO with it ?
You CAN'T spend it, you CAN'T enjoy it .....

And yet so many of them in that stratus not only spend every
waking moment trying to MAKE more, but even THAT is not enough - they
have to STEAL it ( Enron, Adelphia, Ebbers, Koslowski, etc, etc ) from
people who live paycheck to paycheck ........

'Wall Street' is one of my favorite movies - not out of
'wanting to be there' ( I don't ), but because the whole motivation of
the characters is so revulsive / repulsive to me, I find them
fascinating, like a rattlesnake or a viper ...... they don't even
actually WANT the extra money, they have no use for it at all - they
want to know that they stole it / finagled it / conned it out of
someone, THAT is their recreation.

Funny, how many of them end of 'offing' themselves anyway
...... I mean, not to make fun of it, but 'funny = strange', not 'funny
= humurous' .....

Well, I started down that road once...backed off, jacked off then ****ed the
other two....

Not that I'm socialist or communist at all.....

Just that there's certain folks....'character-wise' where any responsible
society should have the means to place better controls upon them is
all--Gates comes immediately to mind, but there are certainly plenty of
others out there......and at all economic levels if you view it on a global
scale.

===

Now curious......

Anyone want to brag now about how much money they got ???

This is Turtle.

Louisiana and Florida are about the same with no licences or traning
required. All you need is a $200.00 operator permitt and a set of guages,
drum of gas , EPA test card, and your a expert.

About the ''''' Control-A-troll ''''' around alt.hvac, there is a few
want-a-bee salesmen and small time scam artist that wants to control the
alt.hvac, but they are not smart enough to know you may get control for one
day and then get shot out of the saddle the next day by the next fellow you
try to get out of the group. i think sometimes that these Control-A-troll
think that they can get control of the group to have it like a advertisment
place for Paul's HVAC Software and Sea Breeze Steve's HVAC parts sold over
the internet. Just some thoughts here.

OK that explains the motive at least for idiots. They would have been a lot
smarter to have not run off the talented posters... those are the ones most
people arrive to read.

So now these folks have a tiny customer base of idiots...that type never
spends much money.

So , speak freely and just don't worry about the Contol-A-trolls .

I only see alt.HVAC posts when someone cross posts to
alt.building.construction...otherwise these people were not impressive..
appliance repairmen for the most part.. nothing above the home owner level.

The real money in this business is in large commercial installations and
service, the larger hotels, chillers etc over 100 tons, many in Florida over
500 tons. that work bills out at over 90 dollars an hour. Here in calif
120 dollars an hour...and parts profits can double that.

Same with the industrial market we have here in Silicon valley.. semi
conductor clean rooms also in Texas and the north east. especially the DDC
controls end of it.

I tried to tip these guys to that market but it was a no go....that market
takes both brains and a professional demeanor..

the brains can be fixed up by understanding a few principles of physics. Most
of the applicance types seem to think physics is over their head...but its
actually not if these are fortunate enough to have a good mentor.

alas... it was not to be. Now that I see who these guys are Im not going
to spend any time on it.

We working class folks, including engineers such as myself are about to be
screwed entirely to the wall here in the US as new immigrants are doing most
of this work cheap..and the high end is being exported to india.

Its going to pay many of these guys to get some more high end skills.. On
the bottom end there will always be some appliance work but at 10 bucks an
hour, a tough way to make a living.

We don't have a "leader", Turtle, or anyone who "controls" the group.
There is nothing to control, or administer to.
It's just a bunch of people with computers, typing instead of talking.
That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. Plain and simple.
No leader, no president, no vice-president, no cabinet, no senate, etc...
You post, you read, you post somemore.
I really wish you could see beyond this idea of yours that this group needs
a leader.
Once you realize this, a lot of the fighting will stop.

Respectfully, Bob

I can see why you have this view , for no one here but just a few select members
can speak as they feel and if your not one of the suck up group of the Pencil ,
and if you speak out a view of your own and does not agree with the Pencil
minion group view. Your met with a vast aray of hatred that anybody could ever
think of as coming from a few people that could speak them.

I do suggest you PLONK me and any others that might speak freely about what they
think. If you start discussing different ideal with different people. You could
get side ways with the Minion group of Pencils and become a out case like myself
and hundred in the past by speaking out about what you think. Close you mine up
and get behind Pencil and you possion of respect will be safe here. I don't
think bad about you doing this for it is the thing to do when tring stay in good

And as a professional, a true professional, not some wannabe HVAC guy like
you that also turns locks for a living, I prefer not to have your kind in
the trade.
Either get your training, like most of us did in here, or get out.
This is not the place for you to try to learn about things that you dont
understand.
There is nothing evil about someone striving for perfection, as you should
know, even if you ARE a member of a cult. There is nothing evil about
telling you that you are a fool, that you are dangerous, and that you have
no right, nor the expertise to be giving anyone anywhere any advice on HVAC
work of anysort.
But I guess its ok to steal from drunk women right? YOUR words Chris, not
mine..you yourself admitted to stealing $100 from that drunk woman that the
state trooper brought home..in itself hard to believe, but you posted it....
YOU posted that you put an old capacitor that you didnt even know the rating
on, on a "customers" unit to get it running, and you yourself posted that
you dont know how to properly wire a contactor to insure that the crankcase
heater works properly.
You dont know, according to your words, how to check subcool, or superheat.
You, by your own words, do not own the proper tools to service, or take
proper readings to insure a customers unit is working properly. You are, by
your own words, a gas and go kinda guy....in other words, a hack.
Yout got Satan, you got him standing right beside you, and as a
Moron...err..Mormon, you should know its a daily battle there, but I doubt
you would understand that, since your previous postings that are full of
porn references, and liebelious statements show that you have a "Mormon as
you need to be" attitude.
And your last posting in here, the one that states that we are here to teach
you, or you will continue to go out and cause harm to others..said loads
about you. You dont care. Thats all I need to know to know you. Respect is
something you will never have from me, nor any other legitimate tech, or
owner in here.
Thankfully, Jan 1st, 2006, your kind will start to fall to the wayside, as
the lawsuits start rolling in against you guys that cant understand, or wont
get the training, simple as it is, for 13SEER and higher units. You will be
out there slapping 13SEER condensors on old 10 SEER coils and when the
issues start, so will the lawsuits.
I cant wait till you get a R410a unit, again, something by your own
admission, you know nothing about..and you dont know what the pink decal is
for. I dare to bet that in 5 years, you still will not be 410 certified and
still wont have a clue...I mean, you still dont have a clue about 22 units,
and yet, here you are, giving advice, wrong, and dangerous. You are a hack
plain and simple..your idea of electrical is downright scary.
Every time you take money for a job you do, you have screwed your so called
customer, or should I say, test subject.

I don't find any loud mouth abusive types that ever know their
business. Such behavior seems to be a cover for incompetence
and worse.

Truly competent people are calm and decent and self
respecting... and they respect others in error not. thats
just how it is.

When I was younger I was a semi pro motorcycle racer, dirt
ovals, the half mile and mile tracks on the west coast, and a
little road racing and motocross. Thats one hell of a
dangerous sport. ( Ran a 500cc triumph in those days,
bultaco's, a 450 husqvarna, and a 360 yamaha that I won the
open class on at the 1972 Wilseville Hare and Hound (400
riders some from europe run that event every year... today I
run a 600cc ATK / rotax.)

Every race sees at least one ambulance or chopper run to the
hospital.. some tracks, such as Lodi Cycle bowl (where I still
run the less competitive senior class) ends up killing one or
two people a year.

Without exception the winners, the guys who slide it sideways
into the turns at 130 mph are polite decent people... there
are not that many loud mouth idiots at a race track.. ... the
few abusive types that do show can be counted on to get
lapped a few times and they almost always run junk.

It seems personal accomplishment and pride go together.. the
guy looks sharp, runs primo equipment, wins, respects
himself... and that carries over to how he treats others.

On Alt.HVAC I must say I had not run into as much ignorant
abuse in my life. ..and mostly from guys doing appliances..
the lowest end of the business. Not a surprise. Too bad it
gets spammed onto other NG's.

It's best to just ignore them and leave them swinging in the
breeze. They feed on hate & discontent so ignoring them starves
them to death.

I sort of "study" this type of socalled human being and at the
moment this group has two sets of mongers at work. One is from
the group as mentioned and the other are a roving group of real
despots who literally feed, even thrive on hate and discontent.
When they get the proper bites to their spew, and I'm happy to
see this group isn't allowing it, they move in with greater
numbers, their goal being to crash the group to no longer being
usable.
That happens when folks let them get to them. Just ignore
them, keep your thick skins on, and no matter how long they stick
around, their efforts will be futile.
This group is doing well, but there are too many people
responding to them, myself included on occasion when I know who
they are and they know I know them. I usually only do that when
they leave an opening where I know I'll **** them off because I
have learned what irritates th em. Ymmv, and I wouldn't advise
following my lead. I've violated an important ethic; ignore
trolls and intentional idiots.

I think it is the freon that affects HVAC people's brain. Look at the hole
it put in the ozone! Now, imagine a hole of that relative size in their
heads. You can look through their ears and see daylight on the other side.

Except Turtle. If you read at all, you know Turtle is one of the good guys.

You need to look at someplace other than Oakdale. We got a unit only for
our 1985 SF home and it was $5K. That was the CHEAPEST. This was 7 years
ago. Our property value has gone up 40% here as well. Can Oakdale boast
that? If you want to make some money, come to FL.

Installing central air costs a lot of money. Once it's installed,

the

However, it would take more than 30 years to make up the cost. It
could even take more than 100 years. In other words, if it costs you
$1000 a year to run window units and $800 a year to run central air
that's a savings of $200. However, if central air costs $6,000 to
install, it will take 30 years times $200 a year for you to get your
money back.
So if you are comfortable now, don't change. If you are hot now,
consider the money.

This is Turtle.

If you think a standard hvac system would cost about $6K. I need to

move my
business to your area and open back up for I like the way you think.

Are you still in the business Turtle? 6K is a normal median price. Some

are
less, some more. You can't touch an Infinity system for 6K, nor even

just a
13SEER 410-A over 3.5 tons.

BTW, given that the OP apparently needs ductwork too, well, Awwwwww

hvacrmedic

This is Turtle.

I don't know of any single hvac system that cost $6K as of now or in

history of
Oakdale.

There is 3 -- 410-A systems in oakdale and all 3 of them are not working.

We had
a local install them and they don't work right. He has not got paid for

them yet
and is being sued.

The highest bid i know of was $5,300.00 for a 5 ton 13 seer rheem heat

pump for
a small Church and plenty of ductwork.

now if you get commercially the money goes up and $6K is nothing for a

job. Now
all residentiually job are poor boy stuff and is low ball, city. We have

one
hvac fellow who trys to get $250.00 off a complete system change out of 4

or 5
tons.
