Not to worry. According to the intelligence available on Google gag!,
they're only for Ron Paul supporters.

Jokes aside, I think that if government is looking at various scary
possibilities, that is a good thing. I would much rather have them
have these coffins available and be otherwise prepared for various
"calamities".

It seems to be something that originated either with CDC or Fema, as a hedge
against a WMD attack. This started before 9/11. It had to do with the number
of unaccounted-for nuclear weapons that disappeared after the Soviet Union
broke up.

And I agree, it looks like a prudent move. However, the blog postings that
claim it's for Ron Paul supporters (and 9/11 "Truthers") are more
entertaining. d8-)

This reminds me of the russian military joke, an instruction to soldiers.

Just search "fema coffins" on Google, and you'll get numerous predictions.

They say it's soon. They're going to kill 90% of Americans. It's the End

A sealed coffin is going to turn one's body in to mush. You want a box that will let a
few gasses out if you want to be preserved a bit longer. This is a reflection on some
sales pitches widows get about upgrading coffins.

Coffin adds disgust me. Same for morticians. Dig a hole, drop me in, leave a marker,
good enough for my dogs and cats, good enough for me.

If they need 500,000 coffins in one particular area, who are they going
to get to do the burying? Unless it is due to an earthquake or massive
fire, something that is supposedly a one-time event that doesn't leave a
hazard behind, like a bio- or nuclear attack would, you wouldn't be able
to get anyone dumb enough to go in to do the burying. Anyway, if
everybody is already dead there, it doesn't really make much difference
if the bodies are buried, there's no public health left to protect.

The area needs to be repopulated.

The coffins are likely made to accommodate more than one body.

However, in the event of an anthrax attack, a sealed coffin keeps the
contaminated stuff inside.

These may be stock piled so that if the "New World Order" crew decides
to conduct another false flag terrorist incident, suspend the
elections, declare martial law (already pretty much accomplished), and
name Dubya "El Presidente for Life" , they have some method for
handling the bodies created by their little prank.

Heavy equipment operators. Bulldoze a trench, dump the bodies into a pile, push them with
the dozer, cover up the trench.

The problem with anything like that, a pandemic, is that there is
the original infection, and then there are all sorts of horrible
secondary things that develop in a seriously infected population,
anthrax, dysentery, cholera, etc.
Anyone going in to "clean up" would be exposed to a raft of bad
bugs, and would be in serious danger. You'd have to be NUTS to go
into a situation like that, armed with a shovel, a bag of lime and a
dust mask. Life expectancy about one to two weeks.

Just give the volunteers hazmat suits and tell them they get to keep
