You're a very bad American for buying that foreign stuff!

Have you bought tires recently? Where were they made?

Sarcasm escapes you and the Trumpets.

I try to buy American but it's difficult. The Democrats and the
so-called conservatives have destroyed US manufacturing so the 1% can
profit. Trump has done more for America in a week than both parties have
done in fifty years.

WTF has he done with manufacturing? Bully Carrier into temporarily
saving 700 jobs? That's about it. And the vast majority of manufacturing
jobs have been lost to automation, not foreign competition.

What I like about the Vibe is even the front passenger seat folds down.
For a small car like that I seem to be able to haul just about anything.

The Vibe was one of the smart things GM did, re-badging the Toyota Matrix.

Have you compared an automobile assembled by an automated robot with one
assembled by skilled auto workers? I think some more jobs my be lost as
there is no comparison. I've had to take those human assembled cars
back to the dealer to have fenders and trunk lids properly aligned but
the robot assembled cars have been perfect. Same with paint.

Robots are not hung over on Monday morning.

http://www.aflcio.org/Blog/Other-New...ca-Union-Tires

That's a list of the factory codes for US made tires. They are union
plants and I don't know if there are also non-union tire factories.

http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/bl...s-made-in-usa/

has more information on the DOT code and a link to the NHTSA site.

Bike tires are even more fun. When you only have two contact patches
you're more concerned about the quality.

IMHO: They seem to be a bit less biased than Huff

I used to read HuffPo until Huffington sold it and it became sort of a
People magazine with political tendencies. Huffington's personal
political journey is interesting. I wonder what her new project will
turn into?

Tossed Eagles at 12k on my wife's Juke and put Hankooks on. No regrets. I will never buy GY again. At least not GY Eagles, they were garbage.

And Eagle GTs are great. Just like with TigerPaw Touring. The T rated
tires are cheap junk, The V rated are excellent tires, and the H
somewhere between.

I have been taking my cars for service to the same place for 40 years.
It's walking distance from my house so I don't have to sit there all
day or deal with buses home. They have always done things right so
I've stuck with them.

A few days ago all I needed was a couple of tires replaced. They
usually put on Goodyear so I did not specify but I noticed this time
they used Hankook. I never heard of this brand so now I'm wondering if
they just cheaped out on me to make a bigger profit?

Google says they are South Korean and customer reviews vary all over
the map from poor to excellent.

Car gets very little use so perhaps it's a moot point.

Ko tires like hankook get the job done to My satisfaction. I just wish
Goodyear would make a reliable tire. I've had several blow out on the
tread and the sidewall. They were Warranted, but going through the
hassle of replacing bad new tires sucks.
The racing tires from Goodyear are very good.

Guess they are not what they used to be.

The cheap tires from just about any manufacturer are crap. The
better tires from most companies are much better.
