So far as I know, Wilson knew nothing about the convenience store robbery when he stopped Brown. I think the sequence of events was that Wilson had heard the report of the robbery. He saw the two in the street, told them to get out of the street. Then he noticed the box of cigars in Brown's hand and realized they could be the two perps. In the interview between Wilson and Stephy that I saw, Wilson said that he was at some child emergency, the call came in regarding the robbery [shoplifting? perhaps robbery since Brown manhandled the owner, changing from shoplifting to robbery] Wilson said that when he had finished with the child's emergency, he had the description of the perp [black man, the hat, the coat and trousers] so he saw a man fitting the description and called to him, whereupon Brown came over to his vehicle etc. I thought you said you saw this interview? I did see the interview. I also saw excerpts from Wilson's testimony to the GJ. What exactly that I posted is inconsistent with any of that and beyond that, of any significance in the sequence of events? |

Am ver curious if any 'experts' out there saw the interview and could comment. To me, modifying one's facial expressions by using botox suggests trying to appear open, while hiding something. Tricks used by double agents run similar gamuts. At least they're usually kept isolated before processing to make certain any effects have worn off before interrogation. |

While Wilson's facial expressions may have been completely absent, I can understand why. He's trying to remember events as they occurred, in the order they occurred, for the dozenth time or more. To him, there is no glee in any of this, nor is there any remorse. He believes that he was thrust into a situation where he had to do what he did. I expect all of us would be equally unemotional in recounting the shooting if we were in his shoes.

When talking to people on-line it is indeed hard to judge them... all body language and facial expressions are hidden and it's often hard to tell if someone is serious or kidding around. However when I see people jumping to the conclusion that /all/ black people are a bunch of N.... just because of some dumb rioters...I see that as racist. |

Philo:
I believe that there ARE differences amonst the human races. I believe that if the spotlight of science were to be shone on the biological differences between the various human races on this Good Earth, we would find important differences in the rate at which the different races mature, the average level of maturity they eventually reach and the average level of intelligence that is "typical" for each of the different races walking this Earth. Now, obviously, there's going to be enough intermarriage between all the races to blur the results somewhat, but that's to be expected. But, no researcher is going to do any research on the development of different races because his funding will be cut and he'll be branded as a "racist", which is a travesty because that's really nothing more than us intentionally sticking our heads in the sand for fear of what we'll see. I believe that every large group of people has enough diversity in it that one will find a broad range in every measurable biological trait within each group. But, I also expect that there will be generalizations that could be made based on averages. From what I see in Ferguson, Missouri, there are a relatively large number of black people there that are using the Michael Brown shooting as an excuse to riot and loot. While I fully understand that there are plenty of blacks that are protesting the GJ verdict in peaceful and lawful ways, and those protesters are being joined by whites who also saw prejudice in that verdict, I can't help thinking that the black population of Ferguson Missouri has a large number of people who are WANTING to riot and loot, and just look upon that GJ verdict as an excuse to do so. And, these blacks are rioting and looting knowing full well that Michael Brown just finished a strong arm robbery in a convenience store and was walking down the middle of the road so as to disrupt traffic for no reason other than spite. To my way of thinking, those rioters and looters are completely ignoring the fact that Michael Brown's behaviour on the day he was killed, and their own behaviour by looting and rioting, is exactly why many white people are prejudice against blacks. They see that black people often lower the quality of life in the neighborhoods they live in by getting involved in drugs and committing crime, which seems to me to be exactly what Michael Brown was doing in Ferguson that day. Many whites consider blacks to be lazy and as drunkards, and the looters breaking into liquor stores only serves to confirm that "prejudice". Michael Brown had stolen cigars that could be refilled with marijuana to make "blunts" to smoke to get high. And to get them, he pushed the convenience store clerk out of the way to convince him that any protest would lead to a beating. That's not the kind of person I want to have anything to do with. So, regardless of why Michael Brown was shot, why wouldn't my observation of what went on in Ferguson over the past few months help to convince me that many (but not all) blacks are undesireable to be around? They are using the Michael Brown shooting as an excuse to attack their own community. Why wouldn't I be wary of the ethics and morals of the black people I meet as a result of seeing what happened in Ferguson? Where am I wrong? Sorry, but I'm only saying what a lot of people are thinking. Last edited by nestork : November 30th 14 at 07:18 AM |

He also went through 4 hours of testimony to the GJ. And I'm sure he was rehearsed in questioning for that for many hours too. And they probably told him to stay factual, not show emotion, etc. |

No, not all blacks are rioting and looting, but can you not see how people watching the rioting and looting that is going on in the USA would come to the conclusion that a good percentage of the blacks in Ferguson are just looking for a reason to go crazy, and that that percentage is probably indicitive of the entire race? Where am I wrong? Perhaps you should compare to all the white people riot and looting after OJ Simpson was found guilty. If you look at all the white riots, you'll see how blacks and whites are similar. - .. Christopher A. Young Learn about Jesus www.lds.org .. |

Philo: I believe that there ARE differences amonst the human races. I believe that if the spotlight of science were to be shone on the biological differences between the various human races on this Good Earth, we would find important differences in the rate at which the different races mature, the average level of maturity they eventually reach and the average level of intelligence that is "typical" for each of the different races walking this Earth. The latest scientific studies are now asking the question: Is there even such thing as race? Bottom line though is that the differences between black and white people are /cultural/ rather than genetic. If you say that a culture that supports mindless looting is inferior I'll agree with you. If you say that the looters are doing so because they are genetically inferior people, you are wrong. Here is a little story: I used to work in Chicago. One day I was on the South side and walked into a McDonald's for lunch. As soon as I walked in I saw that 100% of the people inside were black. My first thought was to get the hell out of there fast. Of course in my case at least when I'm hungry I can't be stopped and I probably would have entered if the place had been burning to the ground. At any rate, I stayed for lunch and of course absolutely nothing at all happened. But I will never forget that feeling of panic "Oh my God, I'm in the WRONG place!" So now put that shoe on the other foot and imagine what black people go through every day. snipped but read |

Of course not, I've seen plenty of black racists and other nationalities as well. Lets face it , we all have prejudices my self included. Thanks. I have actually had people argue with me at great lengths that minorities, by definition, could not be racist. Yep, I've heard that too...there is plenty of mis-information out there. |

Yes, in America only whites (and "browns" i.e. Mexicans etc) can be racist. By definition of democrats, liberals and "progressives" blacks/darkies are *always* blameless. All rot bad behavior is bad behavior period. |

As far as the town is concerned, I think nothing should be rebuilt and the burned cars should be left in place as is. Give the nutjobs there the town they want, they way they have re-arranged it now to suit their fancy. Brown was a jackass and the people know it. ****'em... If no respect is given none is returned. Good point. Although a lot of time from incident to interview to allow total healing, but still, a good point. Did you miss how some of the good citizens of Ferguson stood between the 'protesters' and one business to protect it, by locking arms and standing their ground? No, they don't deserve to have their town destroyed. Plus, IMO they were promised protection which they NEVER received. Oh, but the police protected their police station. Hate to lose that symbol of authority, of course, at the cost of losing several businesses. AND Ferguson was promised protection which it NEVER received. No, the good people of Ferguson don't deserve that treatment. |

So now put that shoe on the other foot and imagine what black people go through every day. When I was about twenty, I worked for McDonalds. We had one guy, who will remain nameless. White skinny kid, about two years younger than I. And what a jerk. I remember his first day, he looked so totally lost and clueless. The SOB on the second day started to give orders. I'd been there about a year, and for a day two clueless asshole to walk past and tell me to polish the stainless, does not set well. Anyhow, a couple years later, I'm in the city. I knew it was a black section. But what heck, I was hungry. As I walked in, and started look around. I was the only white guy in the store, except for this asshole who was the manager. I guess pushy ass holes get promoted, and given their own store. So, I got in his cash register line. After they cleared a couple orders, I'm at the register. I said as loud as I could without shouting "HEY, DAVE! NOW WE KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE MINORITIES,WE'RE THE ONLY WHITE BOYS IN THE WHOLE STORE!!!!!" Dave turned all shades of red. I heard people laughing in the kitchen, and also behind me in line, and out in the lobby. I got my burger and bugged out. Ah, revenge. Be it ever so sweet. BTW, this was long before I was a Mormon, not sure I'd handle the matter today. I'm sure today I'm much more gracious and gentle, got a problem with that, mofo? - .. Christopher A.
