I have a half-brother who is black so maybe got a bit over-sensitive.

I think what you're going to find is that the biggest influence for or
against racism will be the internet.

The internet allows people to communicate with each other over vast
distances without those people ever being able to tell anything about
one another. You agree with that other person's reasoning or you don't,
but you have absolutely no idea if the person you're talking to is
black, white, brown, red, yellow or polka dot. It will be those
communications, between black and a southern red neck, between Jew and
skin head and between Catholic and Muslim that change people's minds
about each other for the better, or reinforce their worst fears about
each other.

All we can do is hope that we really are all the same inside and let
that show through.

It's been shown that other than superficial external features all people
are the same inside.

When talking to people on-line it is indeed hard to judge them...
all body language and facial expressions are hidden and it's often hard
to tell if someone is serious or kidding around.

However when I see people jumping to the conclusion that /all/ black
people are a bunch of N.... just because of some dumb rioters...I see
that as racist.
