My brand new shiny Toyota pickup has one of those screens in it. It shows a warning every time I start the pickup. The warning says not to pay attention to the screen. One feature that is nice is the cruise control. It uses radar to keep me from rear ending a slower driver if I catch up to them. |

All this electronic crap can cause your vehicle to be declared totaled in an accident because of extra repair cost. I drive a vehicle to get from one place to another, not to get entertained. |

My brand new shiny Toyota pickup has one of those screens in it. It shows a warning every time I start the pickup. The warning says not to pay attention to the screen. I have one of those warnings. It's the major reason for wanting a new raido. It makes me agree that the map might be wrong, EVERY time I start the car. I want to tell it once and be done. Are some radios like that? One feature that is nice is the cruise control. It uses radar to keep me from rear ending a slower driver if I catch up to them. That's smart cruise. I have dumb cruise. I listened to Click and Clack last night, and they said when there are two jets to spray wash water on the windshield, one is ment to be pointed up, so that it goes over your car and lands on the windshield of a tailgater. I hadn't thought of that, but it sounds good. When the snow melts off my car, I'll look. |

I'm not sure if what I have qualifies a an entertainment center. There's a radio, I can plug a thumb drive full of MP3's into the USB port, and the phone will pair up if I want to listen to Jango. It does display the backup camera. I suppose it would be entertaining to see how many little old ladies I could run over in reverse without using the mirrors. Nice thought but hatchbacks tend to suck up road dirt and deposit it on the hatch, including the camera lens. I'm not trying to save time, just screwing with idiots. You put a few hundred thousand miles in on 18 wheels and you realize you get there when you get there. I do love the people who slow down when approaching a green stop light, just in case. We have a lot of 4-way stops and they work pretty well with people taking turns. Then there are the hesitant types that sit there wondering if they should go. I give them about 750 milliseconds to show intent. |

I don't have cruise control but it does have a collision alert. It doesn't go well with my driving style. If some moron pulls out in front of me and leisurely accelerates to 25 mph I do my best to give them the impression they're going to be the next thing to be launched to the space station. I used to be like that but somehow my wife's nagging has gotten to me to just ignore things like that. If one really looks at time of aggressive vs defensive driving it is only seconds in a day. My only thought is if the SOB in front would not have pulled out or had sped up I could a made the light. That's another topic: red lights and stop signs. The term is "Take command of the intersection" you got. There was a saying when I was in Boston that the shortest possible time was the time between the light changing to green and the driver behind you honking. |
