The bible isn't absurd. It's just a rather old romance.
Probably considered a masterpiece when they wrote it, around 800 AD.
I prefer more recent authors.

Hi Bod,

Okay, I am bored too. Well of doing office work.

For that matter, we are all related to amoebas.
We are all basically sacks of water with a protective
barrier to keep from leaking on dry land. A YUGE
evolutionary improvement allowing animals on dry land.
Sort of like a water dwellers space suit for dry land.

"So God created great sea creatures and every living
thing that moves"
--Genius 21

"So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping
innumerable, both small and great beasts.
--Psalm 104, 25

Creationism is not a tenant of Christian faith and not a lot
Christians follow it. It is a really bad theory. But
those that do are not harming anyone. They just have a hard
time wrapping their minds around something so infinite a
the creation.

But, then again, since all of today's truths in science are
tomorrows falsehoods, although a better theory, Evolution
will be replaced with an even better theory in a few hundred
years, if not sooner. The field is very exciting and a lot
of things are left to be discovered.

On the other hand, the Global Warning theists are harming
folks as they want your freedom and are acting like a bunch
of fascists, not scientists.

This is what is Christian tenant on the creation:

"We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen
and unseen."
--Nicene Creed.

And yes, that included Evolution, if that is what
he actually used as a mechanism. He ain't saying
because that is not what he expects from us.

This is what Christians believe about science:

"And he hath given men skill, that he might be honoured
in his marvellous works."
-- Wisdom of Sirach, chapter 38, v6, KJV:

So if your are thinking Science disproves god, you are barking
up the wrong tree, again.

Here is great video (Today I Found Out) on science and
religoun, by a condescending Anti American Limey
too -- right up your alley. It is 8:07 long and it
fascinating:

Woaah there Pilgrim! That's a stunning admission. You just pick and
choose which parts of the fairy tale you believe? If the very important
part about how the earth, animals and man came to be, what does that say
about the rest of the story?

But
those that do are not harming anyone.

They do if they try to drive that agenda into the schools. And even if
that belief that's based on fairy tales doesn't lead to bad things, it
doesn't mean that believing in religions based on fairy tales can't lead
to very bad things. Those muslim extremists come to mind. They claim
what they are doing is based on their religious beliefs, which are grounded
in just as much fact as the bible.

They just have a hard
time wrapping their minds around something so infinite a
the creation.

But, then again, since all of today's truths in science are
tomorrows falsehoods, although a better theory, Evolution

Figures you'd drag something like that in.

maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen

Science actually continues to disprove god and the bible. The earth
being just a few thousand years old, wrong. Man, aninmals, dinosaurs
all created in a week, wrong. Not one fact in there that's later
determined to be correct, eg nothing about the earth revolving around
the sun, nothing about the size of the earth, the distance to the moon.
Now if the bible contained something like "gold will one day be known
by the number 79, why then you'd have something. Instead, you have
the opposite, it's all wrong.

Apparently you think I buy into creationism. It
is a pretty bad theory. Genisus is a "story" not

Creationism. Those that do and not hurting anyone
and God Bless them.

And the "day" spoken of in Genisus is not one spin

the day of Man. Day Eight is the Second Coming.

I do not see any conflict with Christianity and Science.

Yes, science learns with facts. Religion relies on beliefs.
You do realise what the word belief means?

*belief*
noun

an acceptance that something exists or is true, especially one without
proof.
example: "his belief in extraterrestrial life"

Still chuckling over that comment. You really pegged Simon.

Does it bother you that one of the greatest scientists
of our time is a Christian and he posited the Big Bang theory?
The Big Band has a ton of fascinating research and history in it.

As with everything in science, it is a moving target: today's truths
are always tomorrows falsehoods. In a hundred of so years or less,
the Big Band will probably be replaced with something else, as
will be Evolution.

The Big Bang does not explain why the universe is accelerating and
expanding. The Lord is more cleaver than we will ever be able
to imagine.

Still chuckling over that comment.Â* You really pegged Simon.

Does it bother you that one of the greatest scientists

The Big Band has a ton of fascinating research and history in it.

As with everything in science, it is a moving target: today's truths

All religion is by nature specious.
If you'd been born in a Muslim country to Muslim parents, you'd be
praying to allah 5 times a day, if you were born to Buddhist parents
then you'd not pray to any gods.

Most religious people are indoctrinated by their parents and upbringing
and they blindly follow.

And every one of them belongs in a secular prison.

I do not know the exact number, but the Catholics have had a
bad issue with this since they have established the homosexual
priest hood after they left the apostolic church in the 12th
century. The married priest hood is biblical. But they
choose not to follow it and are paying the price.

I went to catholic school and thought a lot of the priests
were a bit "weird" and "creepy". Now I know why. Glad I
did not at the time. I had a strong, somewhat crazy father,
so they stayed clear of me. The nuns were the meanest
women I have ever met. (Orthodox nuns are really sweet
and glow with the Lord's love. I was scared of them at first.)

Homosexual priests are strictly forbidden in the apostolic
priesthood. If our catholic brother and sisters in Christ
ever decide to swallow their pride over this issue, we
Orthodox will gladly re-teach them.

Yes, science learns with facts. Religion relies on beliefs.
You do realise what the word belief means?

*belief*
noun

an acceptance that something exists or is true, especially one without
proof.
example: "his belief in extraterrestrial life"

Global Warming too.

Science's facts are a moving target. They are very often
not the true at all and do change with time. Did you

This is more BS and prejudice. Facts show that most pedophiles

Pedophiles have an attraction to children.

But the whole sorry story shows how a major religion, one that's
supposed to be so moral, upstanding, and loving, didn't give a
damn about kids being molested. It was systemic, all the way to
the top.
