Default Just when you think we are the worst...

I see and hear all the time how screwed up the US is, how we suck, our
government sucks, our economic systems sucks, our politicians and
politics suck, how our foreign policies suck, and on and on and on.
It's a daily part of life.

But these guys.... wow. They at least deserve an honorable mention.
I thought it was a joke until I read the whole article.... it's real!
Have we now exported our national self loathing and extreme PC
leanings to other nations?

Even WE haven't gotten this far yet.... stay tuned for next year,
though. We wouldn't want anyone to get ahead of us in the "stupid"
category

Unfortunately Ebonics is being recognized as an official language, I guess.

Ya know... Coming from a Canadian, I
have to think that perhaps some
Americans are victims of bad press.
Including their own.

Robert, your country has its problems,
as all countries do. But it doesn't
suck. Far from it. I"m not about to
defend the US or its policies, some of
which I'm very much against.

The US is the largest and most powerful
democracy in the world, and because of
that it's under some pretty intense
scrutiny. So, when it ****s up, it's big
news. When we **** up, the world yawns.

Although my respect for the US has
diminished in some areas over the last
few years, it's not near the bottom.
Yes, there is room for improvement, but
there are cycles we all go through.

There are a lot of Canadians that love
to hate the US or Americans in general.
I'm not one of them. You have a system
that has prospered for well over 200
years, and I have faith that the system
will right itself.

The only real time you suck is when you
get that lovely bandsaw on Craigslist
for $4 bucks and it's delivered free.

As some one who has represented Canadian Companies trying to do

Your bloated postal system is a joke.

Trying to get printed materials thru Canadian customs is another joke.

Having said that, you Canucks sure know how to have a good timegrin

Make the mistake of telling the border guard you're coming in on
business, and you spend the next hour being grilled over what
business, how long you'll be working in Canada (not what I was doing,
not what I told him I was doing), why you wanted to take jobs from
Canadians, and on. All of that with a French accent that makes him
nearly unintelligible, and that was at the Ottawa airport.

Of course, he's no where near as bad as the female U.S. customs idjit
who forced me to take the seats out of my car for her search back in
the '60s. Or tried to. She was distinctly ****ed when I told her I
didn't know how...which proves the efficacy of telling bureaucrats
very little that's true. She did miss the Cuban cigars on the
dashboard. Also, if I ever come up on a woman agent wearing a military
style shirt with sharp military creases in it, I'll turn around and go
home. I knew from experience what a PITA it was to keep the creases so
you could impress someone.

Same here -- none of them good, but one of them strange... while dialed in to
work late one evening, with the stereo on in the same room, I discovered that
certain notes played on a clarinet produce *exactly* the right tone to cause
an acoustic coupler to disconnect. Same spot on the same track, four times in

Wew could always swap over to the system of "justice" used by the
Saudis. The judge in the case of a gang rape just awarded the VICTIM
another 110 lashes to go with the original 90 because the victim's
lawyer publicly said he felt the 90 lashes was unjust.

She got the lashes because she was in a car with a male she was noted
related to.

If someone did that to my sister, the judge might get to enjoy being
fed live into a wood chipper.

We got problems, but we got blessings beyond counting, too.

Just because some place else has it worst off than we do is no excuse as to
what is taking place here right now. We are headed in that direction unless
we stop this nonsense of trying to protect every one. One day soon we will
not be able to do or say anything because some one "might" be offended.
Before you know it you will be accused of anticipated rape because of they
way you look at some body, male or female. No need to swap to the Saudis
justice system, we are already well on out way. Right now if you happen to
be accused of a crime it may very well have a stiffer penalty depending on
who is doing the accusing. Apparently some people have more rights than
others and crimes against them carry harsher penalties.

In Canada children are encouraged to mail letters to Santa Clause. Canadian
postal codes (equivalent to the US Zip code) consist of
alpha/number/alpha/number/alpha/number instead of all numbers. The children
are directed to mail the letters (answered by Post Office volunteers) to:
Santa Clause,
North Pole,
with the postal code of "H0H0H0".

I guess some rethinking is required on this one now.

In Canada children are encouraged to mail letters to Santa Clause.
Canadian postal codes (equivalent to the US Zip code) consist of
alpha/number/alpha/number/alpha/number instead of all numbers. The
children are directed to mail the letters (answered by Post Office
volunteers) to: Santa Clause,
North Pole,
with the postal code of "H0H0H0".

Dasher----offends gays
Dancer----offends strippers
Prancer----really offends gays
Vixen-----offends porn stars
Comet-----offends Proctor & Gamble
Cupid----offends Hallmark
Donner----offends canibals
Blitzen----offends Electrical Workers.
