Default The world's worst shower?

Been on some travels the last couple of weeks. Staying at small hotels and
B&Bs. Prefer to avoid Travel Lodge etc.

One small hotel in an old country house had an en suite. Very small with a
shower. The shower was in a corner cubical of standard size with opening
glass doors as the other two 'walls' - not much use as one hit the loo
after about a couple of inches. The other touched the room door before
opened to 90 degrees. Bathroom had ceramic tiles, bedroom carpet. The
shower was a fixed head about 6ft 6in above floor level and angled towards
the door. There was no flow control, only temperature. The pipes were
covered in what appeared to be a custom made stainless steel cover.

Despite the highest flow and pressure I've ever known from a shower it
took ages to run hot. So you'd open the door to turn it on - get soaked
with cold water - and the floor - wait for about half a minute then get
in. The tray was slippery and there was absolutely nothing to hang on to -
not even a proper door handle. Great when trying to stand on one foot
while washing the other. No where for the soap or shampoo etc.

I hate having water blasted at my face so I can't open my eyes. With a
flow control it might have been better. With the standard slide up and
down detachable head great. Wonder who designed such a torture device?

Still the good thing is it will probably soon fall through the floor due
to soaking the bedroom carpet at the entrance and causing rot to the floor
joists.

We had a similar 'shower' experience at Hoseasons last summer. (I knew
it was a cheap holiday but didn't know it would be *that* cheap!)

The shower was diabolical - with mould growing on the shower curtain
itself - and on the cloth blinds (!) that covered the window at the
back of the enclosure.

After complaining we got moved to another unit - although this was
barely better than the previous one. Needless to say we won't be going
there again!

The message

I remember the showers in Leeds university - they were in the basement
and the pressure was scary - big shower heads with large holes. I felt
like a beetle being pinned to a board.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
