Does the eligibility stick with you for life or do you get kicked off the roles when you retire and pay less taxes? For the retired people I would treat it similar to the social security rule. You have to have had so many quarters/years or what ever of paying in taxes to vote if you did not fill out an income tax form. While I have been retired for a few years I still get hit for some income tax because I get a pension and take out some money from the IRA. You did not have to take 2020 RMD's. I didn't and taxes are zilch. What drove me from the Democrat party was when I was paying out about 40% if my income in taxes. How would _you_ pay for the B-21 bombers? Or the federal highway system? Or the M-1 tanks? Or the border patrol agents? Or the EPA? OSHA? FDA? FCC? I do not know your politics but that is a typical leftist response to just put things necessary like policing and army and not mention all the unneeded crap. Just take a look at the new nearly two trillion dollar covid relief bill. |

"Ralph Mowery" wrote in message ... In article , says... Why even bother to reply to such an insane idea? Any financial qualifications for the vote are a poll tax, which was abolished by the 24th Amendment. As usual, you republicans ignore the constitution..... "The 24th Amendment, ratified in 1964, abolished the use of the poll tax (or any other tax) as a pre-condition for voting in federal elections, ..." "In 1966, the SC ruled that the 14th amendment mean that the 24th Amendment applies to state elections as well". That amendment can be changed as a bad idea just as the one that abolished the alcohol drinks, then later changed. The requirement I am thinking of is not a special tax to vote, but the right to vote by paying into the system. Why should someone that does not pay into the system have a right to say where the money goes ? Because they arent just saying where the money goes, they are also saying how things should be done non money wise too like what should be done about rioters, looters, same sex marriage, abortion, and even if some clown like Trump should be prez. |

The $1400 is just the balance due of what Trump wanted to give. The rest is the same pork both side always load up bill with. Some people really do need help but the earnings limit should be much less. If a couple has $160k income they don't need or deserve a stimulus check. Should tap out below $100k. |

Lonely Obnoxious Cantankerous Auto-contradicting Senile Ozzie Troll Alert!
On Tue, 9 Mar 2021 05:52:46 +1100, cantankerous trolling geezer Rodent
Speed, the auto-contradicting senile sociopath, blabbered, again: Because they arent just saying where the money goes, they are also saying how things should be done non money wise too like what should be done about rioters, looters, same sex marriage, abortion, and even if some clown like Trump should be prez. What about the clinically insane and, specifically, sociopaths such as yourself. I believe useless sociopathic senile cretins like you should be legally incapacitated! -- Bod addressing senile Rot: "Rod, you have a sick twisted mind. I suggest you stop your mindless and totally irresponsible talk. Your mouth could get you into a lot of trouble." Message-ID: |

IMO, the age of adult should be raised since even at 21, they act like teens. Most don't even have a sense of direction in their lives until 25. And then there's people like you with no sense at all. |

While lots of people need the help, there are many that the virus has not impacted. LIke the wife and I . Being retired, we get the same ammount of money no matter what . OUtside of what the IRA does. Many people are working just the same, My son and son in law have not been affected money wise. Son is even better off as he is working from home now. There is no rel reson to give us the money. The ones that need it are the ones that were working and have not worked in about a year. The government should tax people with IRAs maybe 1% more and give it to illegals sneaking across the US border. |
