us: Note how I referred to "the group" and not "OUR group" or "my group". If he frequented them so much, he would have known about the NORMAL modus operandi of all that commonly DO frequent the group. *snicker* Why do you think I got on your case, dimwit? Idiot. Only a retard like you or the other twits in AUK would even regard the usage the way you did. You are all truly pathetic, every one of you retarded *******s. |

us: Not that YOU would ever post off-topic rubbish to YOUR group, eh MinusDong? ;^) You forget, dumb****. The culture of the group is such that WE don't care, dip****. If you have a problem with that, then you further prove, yet again, that you really have no clue about the group or its most common members or any of the behaviors therein. Now got get a clue, and **** off, you retarded KooTard ****head! |

John Fields: [OT] For Eeyore and Friends

Let's have a little look at the kind of pleasant chit-chat that the ever so "Professional" Mr John Fields considers so inoffensive. http://groups.google.com/groups/search?q=(liberal+OR+****+OR+communist+OR+****+OR+ moron+OR+brat+OR+pathetic+OR+****ing+OR+loser)+aut hor%3Ajfields%40austininstruments.com --- Results 1 - 10 of 550 for (liberal OR **** OR communist OR **** OR moron OR brat OR pathetic OR ****ing OR loser) --- Hm. Quite a few hits, a fair proportion of which are the highly "Professional" Mr John Fields making vicious attacks on other sci.electronics.* posters for failing to kowtow to his obvious wisdom on all matters political. --- Ah, yesss! Pleasant memories from the past, but not so much political as technically derogative. Kinda like how I nailed your phony ass with that faulty 4013 "advice" you gave. --- But perhaps I'm being unfair to Mr Fields. He & his bitch-boy Prongie claim that I'm the source of all the flamage over the last 6 days or so, --- Really? Hmmm... I don't recall having said that. But then, you do have a tendency to exaggerate. --- so I'll filter out his demented rants from the last couple of weeks, & see what a charmer he is when dem mean old Kookologists aren't picking on him: http://groups.google.com/groups?as_q=&num=10&scoring=d&as_epq=&as_oq=libera l+****+communist+****+moron+brat+pathetic+****ing+ loser&as_eq=&as_ugroup=&as_usubject=&as_uauthors=j fields%40austininstruments.com&lr=&as_qdr=&as_drrb =b&as_mind=1&as_minm=1&as_miny=1981&as_maxd=18&as_ maxm=3&as_maxy=2007&safe=off --- Results 1 - 10 of 535 from Jan 1, 1981 to Mar 18, 2007 for (liberal OR **** OR communist OR **** OR moron OR brat OR pathetic OR ****ing OR loser) --- Gee, when it comes to forcing his beliefs on other posters in technical newsgroups, it sure looks like Mr Fields doesn't need any help at all. --- "Forcing" my beliefs? LOL, you seem to think that everyone but you is a Zombie with no will of their own. --- Fortunately, his little strategy of omnipotence failed when he decided to post his CMOS "solution" to one of the electronics groups. You're right because he targeted me as one of his subjects, however misguided that action might have been. The bullseye is of your own making, John. Always has been. He certainly seems determined to portray himself as a long suffering martyr with Christ-like tolerance. He seems to be struggling with that last nail, though. --- Only because you keep squirming, but I'll getcha yet! :-) -- JF |

Gave us: If you had a real name, or picked less silly nyms, or weren't so consistantly obnoxious, people would like you better. You keep saying that, but I really don't think you have a clue as to what the **** is going on. The KRWTARD has attacked me no matter what name I choose, as have others. The BloggsTard makes claims every month or so that I am every poster that he ever got into an argument with over the last ten years. He only got one right, and that is always the current one. That show how little that dumb **** knows about Usenet, regardless of what he may or may not know about electronics. Do you have a real name? Mine is really I pride myself in my psudonymical anonymity. Particularly here in Usenet. Too many loony KookTards about. Also, I have never completely hidden who I am, regardless of what I post under, and I never post under multiple nyms at the same time, like the RichTard does, or the real trolls. Do you really have a problem with that? If so... sad, really. BTW, JOHN. I saw a 4 foot diameter marble ball at Fry's the other day. It gets supported by a small film of water and spins freely on it. You nuke would be like a bb gun pumped one time hitting that, and no, it would have not enough effect to keep it from hitting the earth if that's where it was heading, and no, the bb does NOT "embed" itself into it. another question: Bounce a steel ball off another held in the hand causes the ball to rebound nearly back to the hand that tossed it. Doing the same with two golf balls results in nearly no bounce, and a nearly dead impact. Wouldn't both cases be "elastic" or "inelastic" collisions? Why can the golf ball not be made to rebound regardless of how hard it gets thrown into the other? |

Gave us: Why can the golf ball not be made to rebound regardless of how hard it gets thrown into the other? In a word, "heat" Now... throw the steel ball onto the concrete floor and it fails to bounce, yet the golf ball comes back to well over 90% of it's original drop height. If thrown, it rebounds even more. Place a steel ball on the concrete floor, and the steel ball still refuses to bounce "right", and a golf ball against a golf ball DOES bounce. It has to do with how the shock wave propagates through them. In my hand, the golf ball couples the wave directly to my hand, and the dropped/thrown ball refuses to bounce. The steel ball, being so much more massive, has time (key element) to hold its position long enough to push back on the dropping steel ball much harder, and there is enough to actually pop it back up. Interesting set of tricks to observe there. |

Why can the golf ball not be made to rebound regardless of how hard it gets thrown into the other? Again, you have to do the math. In an elastic collision, no energy is lost. So, say, a perfectly springy steel ball is floating free, motionless in space relative to our frame of reference. An identical ball comes sailing in at some constant velocity V and smacks the stationary ball dead-center. What happens to the first ball? To the second? Repeat for an inelastic collision, two balls made of putty. Conservation of energy and conservation of momentum answers both cases. How about an intermediate case, say two golf balls that are imperfectly springy? That's also inelastic. What happens? John |

Gave us: How about an intermediate case, say two golf balls that are imperfectly springy? That's also inelastic. What happens? You forgot to notice that it depends on their location. In my hand, no rebound on the golf balls. Against a ball laid on the floor, rebound. So you would call it "less perfectly springy" when on the floor? Also, the steel balls behave in the opposite manner. In my hand, I get a rebound. Against a ball laid on the floor, no rebound, just a side deflection from the not quite so centered hit. |
