The XM-L has 5 modes: high, medium, low, flasher, and SOS, and are 60% brighter, a very noticeable difference. You can't trust the advertising at all when it comes to LEDs from China. I've been having fits for years now about that, and have received numerous refunds when the lamps don't put out what they should. Caveat Emptor. I now have about 18 different types of LEDs in various formats. These http://tinyurl.com/oqfmct9 are much, much better lights, so make one your next purchase. I got one for $4.50 and another for under $6. I adore the zoom mode of the body, which makes the light -much- more functional, going from spot to flood in a second. Look for the bulbous zoom hood if you want to make sure it's an XM-L T6. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the external charging port, but swapping an 18650 is quick and painless. The 18650 batteries are lighter than their 3 AAA equivalents, too. -- Stay centered by accepting whatever you are doing. This is the ultimate. -- Chuang-tzu |

Not sure if these are counterfeits or the real deal, but are well made and the board inside is nicely done. I checked. If it fails in my use, Ill post it. And Im very hard on flashlights. Typically..Maglights are the only flashlights that last me more than a couple years. What kind were yours so we can watch out for them? Gunner I looked at how I use flashlights and realized I don't need alkalines' long run time from the ones I leave scattered around for emergencies or finding something in the shed. There isn't much you can do to fix a car beside the road without spare parts. When I was attending night school I replaced the bulbs as part of winter car prep each fall, and carried a set of the used ones as spares to give away to needy friends. I put cheap windup flashlights in the sheds. They don't go bad and I can usually find what I'm looking for on one brief winding. A dim lantern that shows the ground all around serves me better at night than a bright flashlight that ruins my night vision. -jsw |

I have a flashlite in EVERy room in the. I mounted a piece of grey PVC pipe to the wall, low down next to the exit door of each room and keep a cheap D cell flashlite in each "holder". I keep alkalines in each flashlight because they tend to not leak over time. Now I just looked..and about half the holders are empty..sigh...so Ive just ragged on the roomies and the wife and told them to put the ****ing flashlights BACK!..and they are now stumbling around trying to find them. They will find about half of them...then they will be told to grab a flashlight from the flashlight crate, put in new batteries and put them back in the freaking holders. They know the drill..we go through this about every 6 months or so...damnit. I put cheap windup flashlights in the sheds. They don't go bad and I can usually find what I'm looking for on one brief winding. I like those but the only way to "store" them is to hang them from a nail..which has its own problems in a busy household. A dim lantern that shows the ground all around serves me better at night than a bright flashlight that ruins my night vision. True. Which is why several flashlights in my bedroom have red or green lenses and are only used for times when I need to preserve my night vision. Which is seldom actually. Power is on about 99.999% of the time here..very reliable and if it goes out..I simply fire up one of the gensets. Ive a very very good early 4 legged early warning system here for security and in the off chance I need a light, I usually have a small light on my person. Hence the smallish flashlight I did the review on. Ive got a bunch of small ones kicking around here...lots of Maglite LED lights and so forth. I buy AAA / AA by the box. Shrug Gunner -jsw |

If you are absolutely positively sure that this charger will fit this little Cree..Ill buy a couple of them, once for each vehicle and some more flashlights. I bought one (other vendor) for a mobile charger base and it fit both the cheapie Q5 (which is what I think you got) flashlight and the base. Neither of my two T6es has a charging port. I think this is the kit I bought: http://tinyurl.com/oozbfmn , but not sure of the vendor. I'm almost certain that every one of them sells the same brand unit, januwine NoName brand. I suggest you get the brighter flashlights, the above kits for charging, and a 10-pack of 18650s. http://tinyurl.com/otwgn67 looks like the mfgr for mine. Bid a few bucks on a few of these low auctions and wait until you get a low one to win. It's almost certain that none of the high-capacity batteries has anywhere near that capacities, so the buck-a-batt stuff is just great. They run these flashlights for a couple hours straight, on high beam, so they just slightly outlast the triple AAA setups which also fit them. Oh, just found the deal for you, BIN $4 with FS http://tinyurl.com/nk6toob The 5800mAh is probably 2500 in reality. Labels are cheap in China. g -- Stay centered by accepting whatever you are doing.
