I don't know when I'll get out of the hospital because the doctors are getting my body chemistry straightened out. They tell me I'm low on salt so I'm being pumped full of saline. I've eschewed salting my food at meals for many years believing there was already enough salt in the food but now I'm starting to add salt. I'm going to use the salt provided with my meals that comes in the little paper packets. When I was working, I was drinking sports drinks like Gatorade so I was getting salt. I don't recall the last time I drank a quart of sports drink. BUUUUURP! ^_^

I'm a little light in the salt too apparently because of blood pressure
med. Been like that for a couple of years and doctors are not
concerned. I'm still told to not use a lot of salt.

A son's father in law had a serious problem that nearly did him in. He
survived but now takes salt tablets.

consume double the salt we do and have low heart disease
and low blood pressure than us.

many years believing there was already enough salt in the food but now I'm

comes in the little paper packets. When I was working, I was drinking sports
drinks like Gatorade so I was getting salt. I don't recall the last time I drank a

Time I took lasix for a few weeks they also gave me a potassium pill.

When I went to low salt because of bp I used Morton KCl salt substitute
and my potassium level went up.

Diuretics are for fluid retention and I take a thiazide.

It was a bp med that gave me low salt.

Lisinopril for bp gave me a persistent cough until I switched meds.

These things do get sticky and unpredictable.

I've been taking a diuretic for years as part of the shovel full of pills I take every day. I also pee out the gallons of the liquids I drink every day. I've only taken pills and never had to take any injections at home. When I'm given a new medication, I look it up on the Internet and find out about side effects or any interactions with the other meds I'm taking. I also take a potassium pill every day because the diuretic eliminates potassium along with the sodium. Doctors recently told me I was low on salt so I'm now salting my food. I can't seem to win. o_O
