I don't think he meant anything bad by it as evidence
that the guy did not punch him and laughed instead.

Often times when the races get to know each other they
will tease each other about it. I believe this is what was
happening.

I remember showing a black co-worker a new rifle of mine
about 25 years ago. He was a vet and had not seen that particular
rifle in a long time. When I give it to him to hold, I (softly
spoke so no one else would hear and get the wrong impression)
said "Black man with a gun!". He shook his head and laughed.
But you see, we were good friends. I think this was what Stormin'
was doing.

I did not know exactly how to take his making fun of the way
the guy spoke, unless the guy was teasing him back. Stormin'

Often times when the races get to know each other they
will tease each other about it. I believe this is what was
happening.

I'd be curious to know how well Stormy knew the man at HF. I
sense not at all.



I remember showing a black co-worker a new rifle of mine
about 25 years ago. He was a vet and had not seen that particular
rifle in a long time. When I give it to him to hold, I (softly
spoke so no one else would hear and get the wrong impression)
said "Black man with a gun!". He shook his head and laughed.
But you see, we were good friends. I think this was what Stormin'
was doing.

Again, Stormy was most likely not friends with the store clerk. However,
I stick to my original argument. If you hand a black friend a gun and
then "Black man with a gun" enters your mind, there is something else
going on there.


I did not know exactly how to take his making fun of the way
the guy spoke, unless the guy was teasing him back.

I know how to take it. I take it as being a bigot.

I've always found religious beliefs to be an interesting field but I'm
turned off by aggressive proselytism, be it Moonie or Mormon. LDS
missionaries are sheep stealers of the first order. Montana is not Utah
or Idaho but with 5 to 6% of the residents being LDS there is a bit of

Don't get me wrong. Mormons are excellent citizens and neighbors. It's

Well, I guess I've met all kinds of people who proselytize for one
belief or another be it religious or secular in nature. That doesn't
bother me any more. IF someone can convince me to change my mind about
it something, it's because they've given me a good reason that I've
researched and thought about for quite a while before changing my
viewpoint.


Proselytizing use to really irritate me as a kid. Now-a-days
I look at it as someone wanting to share with me something that is
of value in their own lived. That is a good thing.

I do enjoy a nice conversation.

It would be nice for you is that was the case. Sadly,
there is nothing but the absolute thinnest wishful
thinking. Not one single archaeological dig. Not one
single strand of DNA. You need outside verification from
non-Mormon sources, say like a university archaeological
dig. And, if there were ANY semitic presence, especially

anyone to do His will. We may not like it, though!

My sample size is very small but the ones I've seen were quite modern
and plain. I don't know if it is just the era in which they were
constructed or if it is representative of different flavors. At least in
the US there are the ELCA, Missouri Synod, and Wisconsin Synod, ordered
by their conservatism.

When I was a kid, the Lutherans were considered confused Catholics and
the Episcopalians were the snooty, social climbing Catholics. Orthodox
were Catholics with a strange calendar, which was okay because you got
to do Christmas and Russian Christmas.

After that, it got pretty vague. I'm still not clear on the doctrinal
differences of the Methodists, Presbyterians, Congregationalists, and so
forth. My wife would drive me crazy by church shopping based on the
congregants and pastor. Doctrine didn't seem to be a factor.
