Oh, bother. You mean you won't pray five times
a day to Salt Lake City? Sigh. I'll just have
to issue a Moroni, and have the Mormons visit
you five times a day until you convert. Now
you have totally done it. And I'm full of comedy
to keep you smiling, intubated and diuretic.

My nurse was just here. I showed her how my knee is bending left to right instead of just front to back as it's supposed to. She said she would call the doctor too to try to get my knee brace back. It's a lot easier for me to get on my feet when I'm wearing the brace. I hope I get it back tomorrow. 8-)

I think it's fun. I can't do much else from my hospital bed except watch TV or endless videos. I can interact with folks on Usenet and get back into the practice of writing about different things. This is not the only group I'm interested in and I'm certainly not in competition with anyone for highest post count. ^_^

I worked in a nursing home for 14 yrs...don't forget to interact with the residents. Have meals in the dining area and not in your room. You can do a world of good being positive to those people...and you may be looking at yourself in a few yrs? You have many options...

I didn't meant to suggest a competition; but it would be nice
to see a new all-time record. The highest post count I can
recall was about 420, but I could well be wrong. If I'm right
you are certainly within striking distance.

I would prefer to eat in the dining room but I'd have to get someone to push me to the other side of the complex in another wing. When I want to leave the dining room, there's not always a CNA available to push me back. It's very hard on me to roll myself around in my wheelchair because of my messed up shoulders and the slightly sloping hallway past the nurses station is like Mt.Everest to me. The physical terrorism department is at the end of the hall from my room and I volunteer to be tortured there depending on my level of pain. If I get my knee brace back, I can get up in my walker and get around that way. I am a lot stronger than I was when I got here at the end of February. 8-)

I got weighed a little while ago and I've gained 13lbs. I've doubled up on my food because I've been getting up out of bed to exercise in order to build up muscle. My darn leg muscles have shrunk quite a bit and I must fix that. 8-)

I'd suggest Google is a bunch of sensitive liberals. They are using
algorithms for what they or liberals call micro-aggression? Limit
speech on a few words or when those words are not what they think it
should be.

As is pointed out in other threads - kill the messenger and vote
liberal. It hurts their "feelings" so others in disagreement must be
restricted in speech. No reason to do so except you or I may simply
disagree on facts. Facts do not matter to ALPD psychopathic minds.

My roommate is a Black fella who turned 66 last month and he's funny as hell. When my SSI check hit the bank, I had my friend Stinky go by the dollar store and pick up some items for me which included 2 packs of Kool Filter Kings, a Bic lighter and a bag of Hershey's Kisses for my roommate as a birthday gift. He likes nuts but has no teeth so the chocolate drops are the only chocolate he can eat. I told him I couldn't smuggle in a bottle of booze for him because of the trouble it would get us into. He was so happy to get the items because he said it was like being in jail since he couldn't get what he wanted when he wanted it. I don't smoke but there's a smoking area out back for those who do and my roommate will head out there a few times a day. The poor guy lost his toes to Diabetes and goes to the VA hospital 3 times a week for dialysis so I thought I get him something to bring him a bit of happiness. The transport driver can't stop to get him any smokes or a bottle because the VA vans are equipped with cameras and he has trouble getting his cousin to bring him any cigarettes. He still hasn't gotten his bottle. ^_^

The bobs here will now tag your comments as hate speech.

Not that I think you really care. Calling a liberal a maggot is an
insult to a soldier. Period.

"Never accuse a Soldier of being a Marine"

Blame LBJ for the confusion. HST said he hated Marines because they were
so cocky. He wanted to get rid of them all. LBJ was his protege. As soon
as JFK was out of the way, he ordered the Marines to dress like the Army.

Marines had worn sage-green herringbone-twill dungarees since 1942. LBJ
switched them to the OG-107. Seven buttons to close the shirt? The
dungaree shirt had only 3 and wasn't tucked in. The dungarees had no
pocket flaps. The OG-107 had button-down flaps on the shirt and pants.
Four more things to worry about at inspection.

The dungarees were wash-and-wear because that weave resisted wrinkling.
The OG-107 wrinkled like crazy, especially when the coin washers and
dryers at Pendleton were set to stay hot until they shut off.

I wasn't going to spend half my pay on laundry bills to fall out in a
starched Army suit each morning when it would look like hell anyway
after an hour of exercise. I'd appear in a rumpled suit, just as it
came from the dryer. I must have stood out a mile away, but I was never
criticized. I guess the captain disliked the Army suit, too. He wore
dungarees.

The dungarees were loose and comfortable. The OG-107 fit tight. Tight
pants are good for two things: riding horses and showing girls one's
anatomy in high school. There were no horses or girls in my platoon.

Twill gives, but tight sateen cotton restricts movement, especially when
it's sweaty. In winter, tight cotton is cold. Below E5, we weren't
allowed to wear long johns. I was on my second winter at Pendleton, out
in the wind, when I got fed up.

I started buying my pants 4" too big. They flapped in the breeze, but
they were warm, and I could move as easily as Fred Astaire. After two
weeks, my platoon's fashion expert made up his mind: "They look tough!"
The next day, he was dressed likewise. In another week, the whole
platoon stood with our britches flapping in the breeze, like zouaves.

The next evening, our names were called one by one with surprise orders
to be on the next plane to Vietnam. I was thrilled to learn I'd be
issued baggy pants and shirts that didn't have to be tucked in.

He's going to smoke anyway and he's not a two pack a day smoker. The two packs I got him may last him a few weeks. I do get in my wheelchair a few times a day and use my legs to propel myself up and down the hall saying hello to everyone. I see a lot of different people in the physical terrorism department when I go through there but tomorrow, according to the activities calendar for this month, I can get my nails done up real fancy in the morning and go to arts and crafts later on. There's also afternoon bingo then a cooking class. Sadly, the nekid dancing girls trip over their boobs. If I were forced to attend the gospel hour, I would find a way to commit suicide, perhaps chewing through my wrists? o_O
