Which group? You crossposted to two groups.

No, it's not a homemoaner forum and you don't have to like it nor do we
have to cater to dumbass moaners and their unending stream of
stupidity.

See, there's the condescending attitude. Don't worry, you'll be out of
busiuness with that attitude. Maybe you can go work at the DMV then.
Hopefully all you "professional assholes" are out of work and the best
you
can do is make minimum wage digging ditches.

Dude you are pretty thick in the head. You and the rest of the people on
usenet are not customers. You aren't paying for ****. We aren't
soliciting you for anything.
It's an HVAC discussion group. Not help the homeowner with his problem
group.

No, it's really a "berate anyone who isn't one of us" kind of group. Shows
the maturity, or lack of maturity, of hvac "specialists". Are you
professionals? No, since you sure don't act that way. But you can be a
professional ditch digger.

Your opinion doesn't count.

Your's doesn't.

Or what you want alt.hvac to be.Actually, it's the USENET. When you
realize it's not a club you'll catch on.

Grow up and get over it. I suspect though that you'd rather bitch and
moan about it.

I can't do it any better than you Bill.

I dont use those freebie programs...not the ones that Joe Blow Homeowner or
hack can get.
I use the ones that are supplied by people like Lennox, Trane, York,
etc..they tend to allow for more to be done, are faster, and more accurate
than the freebies.

Bottom line is *I* know what I am doing, and you dont.
YOU are a problem person in this trade.
YOU are the reason the average homeowner thinks we all are idiots.
YOU are the kind of guy that thinks the homeowner wants to be sweet talked,
and does not care if his AC or heat is repaired wrong....or right.
YOU are the kind that goes in, Bull****s his way through a call, lies to the
homeowner cause you dont know the right answer and MAYBE gets the unit
cooling again, and you dont see that person again....why? It breaks again,
they call a competent AC guy out, he fixes your playing around, and it works
like it hasnt in years...

Bottom line is Chis..I have no problems with doing it right, I have no
problems with shutting ****ers like you down, and I have no problem telling
a homeowner that the last asshole like you just cost them more money.

Here...since you are on a Google trip tonight, allow me to post what you
wrote about a return call to **** another customer out of more money..care
for me to post the one where you first claim you wont go into a panel since
its an electricians job, but then, later, on another call, you go and JAM in
a wrong incorrect breaker?
How about the one where you get a breaker to hold by "jiggling it a
gazillion" times?

You are dangerous.
You might not like me, I dont care. Im not here to have your kind like me. I
dont give a **** if you like me..put that in your temple garmets and smoke
it.
I dont know you, but I know your kind...and you are a complete, total
idiot...not to mention a crook.

Writing to say thanks to Turtle, and a few others on the board. I got a
service call Saturday for "central AC not cooling". The fellow told me over
the phone it's a Goodman. Hmm. Yeah, I'm thinking. Janijunk?

After some diagnosis, I found a couple of problems. One side of the breaker
not delivering power, and of course the GE incapacitor had managed to
disable the unit.

As it was Saturday afternoon, the parts houses were all closed. I'd brought
along a couple other capacitors that I had taken out of other equipment. The
other one I put in also didn't work (hey, it's also a GE). So, crawling
along on my hands and knees, out of water, twenty miles from the oasis, and
it's all I can do to keep crawling. Oh, sorry, that was the shipwreck.
Nevermind. Well, I did have another cap, though it had a higher farad
rating. Not to worry. Wire it in, and push in the safety disconnect.

Wonder of wonders, the fan jumped to life, and the piston compressor started
to make its usual compressor noise. I've got to go back and put in a new cap
on Monday. Per the advice here, I'll put in a GE. Job security, eh?

I've also got plans to clean the condensor coils. I'd ask what kind of coil
cleaner you guys use, but I'd start a two week flamefest. I'm going to use
Alki-Foam (I think it's purple?). And of course, my favorite pressure
washer. I'll let you know how it goes.

If you call that a success....then God help you.
That was a serious ****ing of a customer, and Chris just admitted yesterday,
that hes NOT been back, that the units still running with the wrong parts on
it, and hes gonna continue.

So..you have a compressor issue, and you would let this unlicenced,
uninsured guy with none of the proper tools or training tell you that you
need a new one?
Even if hes right, hes still admitted to not having the proper tools to
install it, so anything he does, is a test on his ability, with you as the
guinia pig.

Dear Nick,
Thank you for your kind words.

Actually, yes, the gentleman did email me and say kind things. I had to
pick up some parts at one wholesale house, they didn't have the correct cap
size. A second parts house did have them. I went back about a week later,
and put in a new cap to replace the used one. (And dated the new cap with a
Sharpie marker).

The fellow says that the unit had been running pretty much all day. But
now with a professional cleaning, the unit runs colder, and shuts down
often.

Do good work.
It's longer in the short run
but shorter in the long run.

I had a much higher opinion of this trade before all the rude and
arrogant newsgroup rantings, none of which came from Stormin...
And when I see a collection of "experts" all claiming each other
are stupid and wrong, I look for more experts.

The

Wonder of wonders, the fan jumped to life, and the piston compressor

started
to make its usual compressor noise. I've got to go back and put in a new

cap
on Monday...

Sounds like a successful service call...

Ah, that's typical Steve. I went through and counted, you are incorrect in
five places, in your breif email.

I could go through and number them, but I wouldn't want to strain you too
badly.

You wish me to believe that you are a business owner, and actively in the
HVAC trade? I don't believe that for a second. I doubt anyone could be that
badly mistaken and survive for long.

Even if hes right, hes still admitted to not having the proper tools to
install it, so anything he does, is a test on his ability, with you as the
guinia pig.
