I bought that monitor few days ago, and the screen size changes whenever I
switch between bright and dark images. I can't quantify the percentage of the
change (I'm not a technician) but I can assure it's a very tedious issue.

Changing width accompanies most CRT Monitors when changing brightness, but
it is usually compensated by some minor circuits. Tracking down the error
when you have still guarantee isn't a good idea. If you don#t have any
guarantee on the monitor left, try first to clean all conectors on the
CRT-PCB. for more hints I would need to find the monitors circuitdiagrams.

What brand and model is it? We can't help you without that information.

I read about the fact that some changing is normal, but in this case it's not
compensated at all by the monitor.
And yes, I've still guarantee. But according to the thread I mentioned
previously and some Google's researching, this particular Samsung model seems
to be flawed by design :|

Pssssst. 753S is low end but still decent monitor and you got what
you paid for, usually 99 bux. You should had bought an 753DF or 753MB
and both models has better life CRT & tighter regulation. Cost is
only 60 to 80 more.

How much the picture zooms when brightness changes (light and dark
images) on this 753S?

Psst! this is Samsung 753S, it is low end range made to sell for 99
bux each usually in US and in canada appox 140 to 150 or so.

Our shop is authorized by Samsung to repair their stuff. They are all
good for their areas but many models is made to spec for low end, mid
and high end with different life-time of CRT placed in them. Mid and
high-end gets the longer life ones but the circuit board quality is
excellent across their whole monitor ranges.

For my money I rather go for 753DF or 753MB, 755DF, 755MB etc for
longer life CRTs & tighter regulation. Don't bother the 950B series.
they have blue label CRTs didn't last long.

Oh, the model codes is different for same model # that accounts for
re-engineering change when suppliers changes their parts. Like
DT17LS7L, AQ17KSBL, AQ17LS7LK, AN17LS7L all are for 750S or 75V, and
they're are all low end. Dunno on 753S for model code but I know S
always stands for low end.

Take it back to this store where you bought it if you're still not
satisfied, also make sure this shop is authorized to sell specific
models. I know of one that isn't warrenty authorized by Samsung on
particular models because this one got them via different routes and
different models.

A friend of mine has an LG 17" that costs the same and I can't see any
relevant image resize on it. And I never encountered one model that presents
the resizing of the screen so clearly. Then no, it doesn't seems so decent
to me. I don't know how to estimate in percentage the change; in the first
post on this thread I refer to a past thread where someone estimate it around
5%. For me, the fact that it's so clear when it happen is enought to judge
about the quality of this product. In the next two days I'll know something
more about the 753s.

Sure, I'll take it back. But, I'm curious to know if the 753s are all flawed
by design (poor models with crappy high/low voltage regulation) or if I was
not so lucky with my particular one.

LG actually is worse in tube life. And harder to get parts for it.

Like I said, what you pay is what you get. Cheap like 99 =low end
with short life tube, mid cost = much better and even got good deal
for it.

KDS does not manufacture themselves, other re-branders does this for
KDS and very often aren't that kind of quality.

Why still sticking with 753S or any 750S series from what I see from
your comments even even I told you it is low-end, means it has loose
tolerances along with tube that go soft in a year or two if used for
long hours?
