I'm afraid you'll find it's deteriorated even more. There are
fewer serious contributors now, I think, and it's half been
taken over by a load of nutters from aus.hi-fi, for reasons
unclear to me. These are grown men in their fifties and sixties
waging never-ending hate campaigns against each other with a
level of puerility and malice that exceeds even what you used to
find a few years ago - which was already pretty high.

Phil Allison occasionally posts some good flames to ukra; personally
I find them hilarious, but most don't share that opinion.

I can't remember the last time I bothered posting there.

said that it shouldn't have been, because the variety that's sold now is
like ten times more potent and ultimately dangerous than the 'old' stuff
was. It has been linked to a lot of violent crime, and ultimate mental

I was just very tired and queasy from having too much to drink
on Sunday, which was a bit of a crisis day, but it's all sorted now.

As for my job - well, boring. Pure computer programming, and not
in a scientific/(non-software)-engineering field. I was brought up
and educated as a scientist/engineer, so I find it deeply unfulfilling to
be writing business software. You can imagine. Let's just leave it there;
I find it depressing to think and talk about.

I was just very tired and queasy from having too much to drink
on Sunday, which was a bit of a crisis day, but it's all sorted now.

is an altogether different variety that has real and measurable
brain-rotting characteristics, and does finish up putting many of its users
in the local mental institution. Perhaps it just enhances an existing
predisposition to suffering mental health problems. It's just what I'm
reading week after week in my sunday papers, and the sudden irrational and
violent-sounding behaviour of these people seemed to fit ...

power and a few other things relating to getting the maximum
performance without having anything fail. Perhaps some people do not
see the logic in starting such a discussion in a newsgroup where
people generally deal with failures of electronic equipment all the

threat. I stated that if someone wanted to kill me I have people to
help me get rid of the body. That is a threat to defend myself. If you

makes the OS hit a website continuously. Windows and other OSes do
that as well because you just don't hit every time on the web. Most of
the time it is set to 5. But if I set it to 500 I can crash any
website I click on, I can even set it to 5000 and clog up more ****.

So I need to go home crying when nobody can discuss the complex

I designed my own amp a few months back.

One important design stage was the output protection.
I added a microcontroller circuit that looked at the output signal and
switched off a relay if a fault condition was found.

When my set up uses £200 worth of speakers then it is important to
protect them.
