The only good thing possibly about Hilary running for higher office is that we get her the hell out of my state. Not that that's any great consolation either. Yes - it's paid for by taxes, which are extracted from your paycheck, by force if they need to, whether you want to pay them or not. Which is pretty much the definition of theft. Of course, the neocons are no better - in fact, maybe worse, because they tax your children by borrowing the money, and then spending it on unholy crusades and invading your privacy and various and sundry abuses of their authorized constitutional powers. Taking up a table or booth in a restaurant for four hours and only buying a cup of coffee, while working people can't get in to eat because there are no empty tables. They whine and cry about living on fixed incomes, yet they maintain to homes, in two countries. When I lived in Lake County the roads were tied up by the bloody morons driving 20 MPH in 55 MPH zones, and making right turns from the far left hand lane on a six lane highway. they would sit through a green light, then roll into the intersection, just as the light turned red. LOL- no, I do not ignore the realization of my "own" incompetence, of possibly criminal proportions, that is directly responsible for my "plight" which is soooooo bad that possibly the only reasonable recourse left is euthanasia. But I continue to recognize the massive corruption in the corporate sector. |

Yes, which is what the government does to support socialism. Or what the insurance companies do to support their fat asses. It's also un-Christian, and un- Islamic. it's also against the Hippocratic Oath, should you have the ability to find a copy that hasn't been "doctored" by the AMA.. None of these requires taking food off your neighbor's table to pay your own bills. Or even recommends it, as far as I know. Do you know what the median salary for a physician is in the USA? It's far more than what is necessary to feed a family of forty :-) Even in Canada with it's government managed health care, Canadian doctors earn on average over $150,000/year after paying staff and office. I wish that I had that much food money... You idiot, I'm talking about where that 150K _COMES FROM_!!! It comes OUT OF YOUR POCKET! And your neighbors' pockets. (BTW, there is no apostrophe in the possessive 'its'.) And it's taken away whether you want to pay somebody else's bills or not. Ergo, socialism is evil, since it's based on theft. Thanks, Rich |

So, are you saying that Canada's heathcare system is theft / extortion / ****-poor, or what? I do seem to recall hearing that it can be damned hard to get a good doctor up there. (And yes, to be fair, it can be damned hard to PAY for a doctor down here. And hard to find a good doctor even farther south, and so on. You get what you pay (or don't) for, lawsuit insurance and other crappy fees notwithstanding.) I've got an idea - let's send Jim Thompson to Canada, and have him ask about a hip replacement. ;-) Cheers! Rich |

Physician's in the USA average about $140K/year after costs. 1996 figures, 2006 the average is $230K, median is $226K. That's after expenses. Do you think that's enough to feed a family of forty ?:-) In India, sure, in your colony, Iraq, definitely. ...Jim Thompson Jeez Jim, you're getting slow! He stated "median" salary, then, compares it with "average" salary. I didn't compare. I just posted numbers. Who knows what definition of "median" was used in Bob's reported statistic. Median can only be one thing, the point at which equal numbers of candidates are above and below the median value. Average on the other hand, can be determined many ways. (sum N / N, min+max/2, etc.) Note that in any well ordered sample median and average are pretty close. If there is a discrepancy, then you have a distorted bell curve. Stadistics can be a dangerous tool. BTW, in some countries, 140k could feed a family of 40 or more. What's with the Canadian $ being on par with the US$ these days.
