Brilliant - I'd never have worked that out for myself!

If a substantial stretch of the road has the wrong speed limit, the whole
choice of route is thrown into question. And it is nonsensical to suggest
that the appropriate way of handling this is to check every significant
section before you decide which suggested route to follow. Equally it it a
complete rip-off to pay the map update fees. And the user-contributed
updates, useful though they may be, tend to be slow and erratic in
becoming available.

Tomtoms don't use the speed limits to work out routes these days.
They use the speed at which drivers (with tomtoms) drive at.
As most people (excluding this group) drive at or near the speed limit it
gives a better route calculation than using posted limits.

the only time it may be a problem is if you enable the speed warning on the
tomtom and don't also pay attention to the signs.
