Plants are intelligent? This is a new one on me? Can they do the football
pools?

Matt, London is swarming with the Prius. Swarming I tell you. Swarming!
1000s upon 1000s of happy drivers, keeping the city clean. Fabulous. Now
run out and buy one instead of driving around a polluting 4x4.

For a poster to call someone called Andy Hall, Matt. I very much doubt the
OP his mind.

Plantpot you have to call people by their proper names. Mine is Doctor
Drivel.

Clot ("Clot" ) gurgled happily, sounding much like
they were saying:

I'm not wishing to enter a dribbling drivel conversation, but Adrian I
have been involved in point source and diffuse inputs of heavy metals
into the environment. Tyres contain zinc. I had expected that most would
have been contributed on motorways and dual carriageways. A university
research project currently ongoing is indicating that at least higher
concentrations are generated in the urban environment and possibly
greater quantities. The work is ongoing.

Are tyres the only source of Zinc?

Is that a reliable test of intelligence? I would suggest the opposite.

Have you considered zinc weathering from various forms of galvanised
metal? Rural fencing, roofs etc.

And tyre/wheel balance weights?

Although common it frequently goes undiagnosed.

They do wear from "sandblasting" and they certainly weather. :-)

And what happens to the ones that come off? I'd guess they slowly
corrode and disintegrate.

Maxie! You say terrible things at times. But you are one.

What was the other car you claimed to own ?

Aston Martin and Mini Cooper

the one where you seemed to be ignorant of a recall on ?

The Aston was not recalled Maxie. It is too old. How is your motorbike
Maxie? Brrrm, brrm! I believe a vegetable rides your bike. Brrrm, brrm!

Diesels have decent mpg because a gallon of diesel contains more energy.
But what filth they pour out! And noise pollution too.

You miss the point.
Modern diesels don't pour out filth and they need not be noisy

A neighbour of mine designed the injection systems of the Renault range of
diesel engines. He said they are more complex than petrol and still
dirtier. Filth, yes filth.

Tell your neighbour to get a new job and leave the difficult stuff to people
that know what they are doing.

of decreasing intelligence..

animals

Since most Renault DCi common-rail diesels use the same basic Bosch piezo
injection system as most other manufacturers, Dribble's neighbour is
either a very clever German who Drib's misunderstood completely or one of
them's bull****ting frantically.

It's not exactly news that common rail diesel injection tech is way in
advance of that on petrol injections, and they _are_ "dirtier" by some
emission measurements. And cleaner on others.

No, galvanising as mentioned above is also a source.
