Love those t-shirts! bseg

Obama more church-active than McCain - scary.

We don't have a melting pot here any more. It's an uncooked
multicultural stew which is turning rancid on us.

Politics in this country is all about reinforcing those ugly
prejudices. It gets worse every year, as they hire more and more
costly advertisers who will stoop to anything, and then some, to get
their man elected.

I hate socialism, but I'm for a socialized funding system for our
election. All monies for each position are dumped into a single
account until 6 weeks before the election. At that time, all qualified
(according to electoral regs) candidates share an equal portion of
that money and can do with it as they will, as long as it's all either
spent--on this particular election alone--or returned to the coffers
for the next election. It can't be given away, shared with other
candidates, or kept. (War chests breed more crime and help to elect
less qualified people.)

This would limit the time these arseholes (I love politicians, don't
you?) could attempt to bribe us or continually assault us with their
bullsh*t (like these last 4 fracking years) and, hopefully, reduce
bribes _to_ them. Brits and Canucks seem to do it right.

P.S: My vote is still going to the lesser of two weevils, McCain. And
my local Libertarians may get the nod when they step up.

I want to watch her debate with Joe Biden. The debates should show
that, if it is true. That she does not want to participate in anything
un-scripted, suggests that she has something that she does not want to
show.

Yeah, I want to see that, too. But the RNC set the rules so that she won't
have to confront Biden directly. They've been surprisingly open about this.
They basically acknowledge that she'd get creamed if she had to go off the
script.

Expect a string of well-scripted, non-responsive, unspecific remarks from
her.

So, what are the rules? Would Sarah have to answer any debate points
made by Joe Biden? Or will she know the question in advance and read
answers off a teleprompter, which would be unlikely?

It was just too perfect. After listening to Tina Fey's routine the other
night, and the thought of Sarah with testicles, all I could think of was
"Rocky Horror." (That could be a good label for the past eight years, as a
matter of fact.) Several comments here have reinforced it; the righties seem
to relish the degree to which she's more of a man rather than a woman. That
sure sounds transexual to me...

Anyway, I haven't seen it for 30 years to I looked to see if "Sweet
Transvestite" was on YouTube. Watching it again was even better than the
first time. I nearly fell off my chair picturing the whole thing occurring
in the Alaska Governor's Mansion.

Of course it's a joke, but I'll tell you this: If I ever get a flat tire
while driving by the governor's residence in Alaska, I'm not knocking on the
door.

I'm not voting for McCain.

But I'll probably vote against Obama.

Ka-ching! Another voter decides to opt out of democracy and to let
somebody else decide.

You, Don and Larry may find Kristof's column today enlightening:

Gunner might as well skip it. d8-).

I read what you offered up here, Ed.
But you couldn't be more wrong.

About what?

I don't believe EITHER of these mutts are spiritual people.
Christian or Musulm.

Neither do I. That's one thing I like about both of them. I want a president
with both feet on the ground, and nowhere else. If I want a spiritual
person, I'll vote for Madam Zola.

I don't think either of them will be able to "solve" our problems.
Financial or cultural.

Neither do I. Neither would anyone solve our problems. We aren't voting for
a magician; we're voting for a president.

But one of these guys is going to be the next President of the
United States - like it or not.

I won't cry over it either way.

I simply have more in common with John McCain than Obama.

So do I. That's a major negative for McCain. g

BTW, I think he and I share the same hair stylist.

Well, good. You've been following closely then. If you saw the dustups
yesterday, you see that Schmidt and the rest of Sons of the Swiftie Slimers
are in a snit and they're trying to push back on the New York Times. But
this time the Times won't be pushed. They caught hell last time for not
calling the slimers on their game, but Heller, the Times' chief editor,
apparently resolved not to let it happen again.

Schmidt is looking for an opening to "define their own reality," as Karl
Rove once put it, and he's finding it a lot harder to do this time around.
