Default Does your car meet our standards

Taking a clue from this apartment complex, it is time to put some
standards for people posting here. They must have a nice looking car.

The Montana Valley Apartments manager noted that the complex doesnt
allow cars with rust, dents, flat tires, or bad paint to sit in front
of its complex. And while theres certainly something to be said about
towing a car thats been immobile for several weeks, tenants here are
arguing that the standards are entirely unfair because it doesnt
allow them the time to get a repair€”especially for people who are
already living paycheck to paycheck.

I have the ugliest car ever made. A Scion Xb, first version.
I love that car. Best car I ever had. Like a box, only boxier.
I'm keeping it.

Well, maybe the Edsel was uglier. But the Scion Xb is up there.

I've seen a lot of them used for advertising though, made a nice
billboard. One of my suppliers had one for deliveries and it could hold
a lot of stuff.

Was the Xb the one with the plastic interior so you could take it to a
car wash, open the doors, and hose the vomit out?

Agree. It sort of bugs me that the car sort of looks okay covered with
advertising.

When I bought mine, I went into the dealership, told the salesman that I
wanted the ugliest car ever made. He didn't seem to appreciate the
comment. Toyota redesigned it and took some of the ugliness away.
Sales plummeted and they stopped making them.
I don't think they understood what they had.

I don't have a problem with the Gremlin. It fit well with the raft of road
louses of the day, such as the Ford Pinto. To me, the Gremlin is a lot
nicer looking than the Pacer, with its curved rear window.

My choice for ugly car would be the Pontiac Aztek or almost any electric
car, the Scion (Kia? ???) that was advertised as being driven by a group of
chipmunks, plus of course the Pacer. The Gremlin would be pretty far down
the list.

Fark, glad its not me trying to design cars
to appeal to the market with people like you
around if you think that is worse than the Edsel.

Kia.

that was advertised as being driven by a group of chipmunks,

plus of course the Pacer.

That one is a stupid waste of space at the back.
And the engine bay is ****ed too, stupid to not
have a transverse engine and fwd.

The Gremlin would be pretty far down the list.

I don't know - a Henry J was a pretty homely looking thing too - and
some of the forties and early fifties (previous to 1955) Packards???
The Tucker wasn't winning any beauty contests either - or any of the
Curtis cars before 1955 - or a crosley -or a Bobbi-car. Pre 50s Studs
were nothing to write home about either - and the 73 Grand am???? or
the 1957 "catfish" Packard Hawk?? Or an early "bathtub" Nash? Or some
of the 50's Lincolns???
Any Edsel BUT the 1960 was actually pretty pleasing to the eye - but
the '60???? UGGGLYYY!!!! The Gremmy looked a lot better than the later
"Spirit" based on it - actually kinda Cure in it's own way.

I would have never bought one myself but for free I took it. I was
going to give it to my nephew but he never bought the insurance (our
deal) so I couldn't. I had put a new clutch in it for him and I was
driving around some in it to be sure it was OK. I just kept driving
it. They are ugly but actually pretty functional and you can haul a
lot of stuff in one. It is the car that made a fold down back seat
mandatory in any other car I ever owned.
