Default The HISTORY Behind Gun Control

Back in the 1960s, Ronald Reagan was governor of California. He was IN
FAVOR of gun control.

Back in the 1960s, the National Rifle Association was IN FAVOR of gun
control.

Y'see, the NRA was a group formed after the Civil War in 1871 to teach
soldiers how to shoot properly because soldiers couldn't shoot worth a damn.
It is said that they wasted 1,000 rounds of ammo for each Confederate
soldier hit, making the war last far longer than it should have.

WHAT CHANGED EVERYTHING was Oakland's Black Panther Party. Huey Newton and
Bobby Seale had founded the Black Panther Party (For Self-Defense) after
some brutal anti-black killings in Oakland. They felt they had to arm
themselves. When Huey and Bobby went to Sacramento to protest a proposed
gun law, they packed weapons into the legislative chambers, FREAKING OUT
EVERYONE.

Due to racism against the Black Panther Pary, racists in the NRA took an
anti-black stance and decided that if the Panthers could pack guns, they
would, too. The pacifist NRA board members were overthrown in a coup and
the current pro-gun NRA was established in 1969.

So, we have the Republican governor of California in FAVOR of gun control,
and the NRA in FAVOR of gun control, until they learned that blacks might
use guns to protect themselves against racist violence. So, in short, the
NRA started a race war.

Nice going, NRA.

Bwahahahahahahaha! That has got to be the funniest P.L.L.C.F. codswallop
filled rant I've heard all year. Regan was a Democrat back then you
drooling dolt. Republicans in that era consistently backed civil rights
legislation. I suppose you're one of those White slavery deniers too
who has an apoplectic fit whenever someone points out that The KKK was
spawned by and is populated by Democrats. I'll never understand how The
Democrats have pulled the wool over the eyes of my darker skinned
cousins in this country without them realizing that The Democrats have
bought them and enslaved them all over again in a different form. O_o

Democrats, slave owners and the KKK (Democrats) were all for laws to
keep the black man down. "Black Codes".

Republicans want blacks to have guns so they can defend themselves
against Democrats.

Ronald Reagan was a Republican back then. He was a nominating speaker for
Goldwater at the 1964 Republican convention in San Francisco. After that he
became governor of California and was also the chair of the Republican party
in California. You drooling dolt.

Before the last Republican convention in Tampa, the NBBP (New Black
Panther Party) was bleeding from the eyes about Republicans being
racist.

- Not a single clue about Lincoln

I understand when the home of Martin Luther King (MLK) was firebombed,
he was denied a gun permit. Wasn't he a Republican? Permit denied by
Democrats?

- Folks just don't know

George Wallace was a Democrat.

I was mistaken/wrong about the date he switched parties and found it was
all because he started dating an evil Republican woman. Heck, the
Republican women are better looking anyway showing that Ronnie wasn't

George Corley Wallace Jr., not to be confused with George Henry Wallace
the Negro American comedian. ^_^

In the late 1970s, Wallace announced that he was a born-again Christian
and apologized to black civil rights leaders for his past actions as a
segregationist. He said that while he had once sought power and glory,
he realized he needed to seek love and forgiveness. In 1979, Wallace
said of his stand in the schoolhouse door: "I was wrong. Those days are

And Abraham Lincoln was about to run as a Democrat, changed parties,
because he saw what slave beatings were imposed by Democrats.

How does all this figure into your gun control history thread?

No he was neither Dem nor Rep--
He felt he served his cause better by stayiing out of parties--
"Actually, the Negro has been betrayed by both the Republican and the
Democratic party. The Democrats have betrayed him by capitulating to
the whims and caprices of the Southern Dixiecrats. The Republicans
have betrayed him by capitulating to the blatant hypocrisy of
reactionary right wing northern Republicans. And this coalition of
southern Dixiecrats and right wing reactionary northern Republicans
defeats every bill and every move towards liberal legislation in the
area of civil rights"

The color of his skin is likely the reason he was denied [by the
police department- not a political party] a *concealed carry* permit--
He had lots of guns in his house.

- Folks just don't know

George Wallace was a Democrat.

Well-- more precisely a Dixiecrat.

George Wallace represents today's Dem party about the same as Lincoln
represents today's Rep party. Parties and times change.

Whoosh! Right over your head. Dufe you've gone from sock puppeteer to

Get it now? See the irony? While I don't want to put words in his mouth, I

So kindly you didn't even notice and needed to have it explained to you. (-:

that's to be expected from residents of a state that ranked 49th in

Alabama's state school funding cuts over the last five years will be
deeper than in all other states except Arizona, where funding will fall by
21.8 percent.

And I never say "both sides" when I mean just one.

However, I appreciate your attempt at reason instead of the standard
Usenet name-calling.

Another leftist silliness - equating the amount spent on education with
intellectual prowess.

Did it ever occur to you that less money is needed in Alabama for some other
reason, like the citizens of that state being already pretty smart?

Default The HISTORY Behind Gun Control

"David Kaye" wrote in message
...
Back in the 1960s, Ronald Reagan was governor of California. He was IN
FAVOR of gun control.

Back in the 1960s, the National Rifle Association was IN FAVOR of gun
control.

Y'see, the NRA was a group formed after the Civil War in 1871 to teach
soldiers how to shoot properly because soldiers couldn't shoot worth a
damn. It is said that they wasted 1,000 rounds of ammo for each
Confederate soldier hit, making the war last far longer than it should
have.

WHAT CHANGED EVERYTHING was Oakland's Black Panther Party. Huey Newton
and Bobby Seale had founded the Black Panther Party (For Self-Defense)
after some brutal anti-black killings in Oakland. They felt they had to
arm themselves. When Huey and Bobby went to Sacramento to protest a
proposed gun law, they packed weapons into the legislative chambers,
FREAKING OUT EVERYONE.
