It's possible, the cable and SAT TV channels carry BBC America. There
are a number of gray area websites that have TV shows from all over
the world that can be watched without legal restrictions, (pirate).
I believe Hulu TV is blocked outside the U.S. and its territories,
you would need a U.S. proxy to watch it. BBC America carries shows
like Dr Who, Top Gear and BBC World News America.

The over the air broadcast of such programs is usually found on
educational TV stations which like most public colleges here in
the states are infested with Liberal Democrats. Alabamastan has
the oldest public TV network which often airs programs produced
by The BBC.

Let's see..."you guys" would be you and others who look down on people
because they find meaning for believing in a Supreme Being.
You need to get beyond the "you're stupid" and "PLONK" crap.
If I was super intelligent (and I am not) and came to a honest,
rational conclusion in my own mind that I couldn't believe in God. I
would let "the inferiors" a lone with their delusion.
You guys are obviously not there yet.

I don't believe I've ever looked down on anyone because of their
religion but I've been spit on by Protestant kids when I was a
kid because I was Roman Catholic. I hated and despised those
horrible children until I grew up and realized that those horrible
children were the spawn of horrible adults. It's amazing what kids
pick up from their parents without actually being taught a particular
behavior. Be careful what you assume.

I also had nuns in grade school and had no problems and didn't see
anything I would call abuse. They were mostly bluff...which worked
well. For me, it was an excellent place to learn and have friends.
I went to public high and it was also a great experience. This was
the early Sixties so there wasn't much in the way of drugs or gangs.

The nuns had a reputation and they would, on occasion, show an example of
some sort. They could handle a classroom of 60 to 80 kids easily, using
fear of the yardstick. Our fifth grade num broke a few and the worse
punishment was you had to bring he a new one, thus explaining to your parent
why. By today's standards, that would be abuse, but in the 50's, it was
common (and given fairly ) practice too the few really bad ass kids in the
class.

I went to school in the 50's - 60's in Philadelphia. The Catholic school
system was one of the top rated in the country while the public school
system was down in the bottom group. Religion aside, we got a very good
education. When we moved to CT, the Catholic school in town was barely up
to par while the public school was good, but still not as good as Philly's
Parochial system. Our kids could have easily moved up a grade here.

Like all things of this sort, the reults will vary from town to town and
probably does in Philly these days also.

It looks like an interesting series but I see it as one more "religion". The
religion of science. When science uncovers the "God particle" I will be one
of the true believers. So far science is the only thing we can logically
believe in, but to say there is no god because science exists seems to leave
out unknowns even to science. I'm a true agnostic. g

Even if "God" WAS found to exist, that's still a long way from deserving
worship.

There is no "eternity". You're born, you die. You're done. Why do you need
there to be more? Is your life so pathetic that you're counting on
"eternity" to be happy? Sad. Very, very sad.

Let's try it this way...you think your complete set of Barbies is the
greatest thing in the world.
I actually think you are pathetic...but I don't want to disturb your
little happiness.

I can listen to your opinions but not if you are belligerent about it.

It looks like an interesting series but I see it as one more "religion". The
religion of science. When science uncovers the "God particle" I will be one
of the true believers. So far science is the only thing we can logically
believe in, but to say there is no god because science exists seems to leave
out unknowns even to science. I'm a true agnostic. g

Science is about facts. Religion is about belief. Amazing what some
people believe.

Even if "God" WAS found to exist, that's still a long way from deserving
worship.

When you have been in this life for a length of time you begin to
notice things (acts, people) that are directed at you. Giving you a
direction or answering a need. If you are open to this...your mind
will be opened to a higher power. If you dismiss it because of your
"massive" intelligence and ego...well, it is still your choice. Maybe
you are afraid to make that choice.

Yeh right. But you're the (ex)cop thinks that fairy stories wriitten
down hundreds of years after the event by biased religious nuts and
then edited and amended thousands of years later by more religious

Heh Heh. Gawd help the law in America! Is that how you used to hand
out speeding tickets?

So many straw-man arguments.
1. I never said anything about "good evidence."
2. I never wrote a speeding ticket (I was in a separate division. If someone
I encountered deserved a speeding ticket, I called for a traffic enforcement
officer. Usually the traffic enforcement officer was out of citation forms
and simply gave the miscreant some flashlight therapy before taking him to
jail, charging him with "felonious stink-eye".).
3. You appeal to "Gawd" while questioning the authenticity of His followers.

It seems as if you assume things so you can dispute them.

There's probably a 12-step program in your neighborhood...

Actually the reconciliation of faith and reason was sorted out in the 12th
Century by Maimonides ("Guide for the Perplexed") and in the 13th by Thomas
Aquinas (Summa Theologica).

You really should keep up.

Some would say that they would rather live their life as if there was a
God and die and find out there isn't, than to live their
life as if there was No God and to die to find out that there is.

So you're saying there are people who would live their lives differently if
they didn't believe in doG? Like become mass-murderers or something? You
delusional types are funny. Enjoy your fear of your imaginary friend.

Yes, they smothered reason with a bunch of gobbledygook to make the
religious belief more palatable and plausible. Lots of words used to
cover up the truth.

You think and act like a child...If you don't have respect- no one
will take you seriously.
All that you say...has been said. And, in a more palatable way.

As I said, you really should keep up. To dismiss something about which you
know nothing, which I'm assuming is the case here, is pitiful.

I've read "Guide for the Perplexed" in Hebrew, but it's available in
English. I tried "Summa Theologica" in Latin, but it was just too difficult.
So I read it - at age eighteen or thereabouts - in English. There was much
in both I didn't understand back then, but do now.

The intellectual discourses may be too much for you, but you should be able
to get the gist of it.

Now you can replace those three letters wit "Santa" "goblin" "faeries"
etc., etc, and start believing in anything you fancy.

Bing, bing, bing, we have a winner. You want to have an imaginary friend,
fine. Most of us were done with that before Kindergarten, but you're welcome
to your own delusions. Just don't expect anyone to take you seriously.

You take simple-minded, bible-thumping, God-fearing, non-thinkers as
your example of a Christian. This is your infantile way of wrapping-
up the whole debate in a convenient prejudice.
The vast majority are believers or church goers that have a fulfilling
existence...like you think you have.

There's nothing to know. Complete ******** as can be identifed by
anyone with even half a brain. Founded on rumour, lies, hearsay,
propaganda, manipulation of dodgy history, brainwashing and wishfull
thinking.
Absolutely nothing that would stand up in court of law. Even in
America. Any policaman that believes in such crap needs to be
dismissed. Or possibly put in a padded cell.

way to get to the afterlife. Which one is more important? Frankly, I
was scared ****less that Bush wanted to start armageddon and he had
