Not exactly the most detailed set of plans I've ever seen, but better than some. Be inspiration if nothing else. But, if you make one, make at least a dozen or so, for the crew. I posted the plans for a Viking long boat, long ago, look them up in the archives. You provide your own weapons, helmets, shields, etc. JOAT The first method of estimating the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him. - Niccolo Machiavelli |

(Ralph=A0E=A0Lindberg) says: Looks like the Mastermine (sp) tool chest Similar, but I believe this is longer. Probably both made from the Viking Boy's Big Book of Woodworking. Probably both made from the Viking Boy's Big Book of Woodworking. I suspect you have no idea what I was talking about, maybe due to my poor spelling of the name The Mastermine (sp) chest was part of a find, in a Swedish lake. It was (for all appearances) the chest this drawing is based on. Inside the chest was a collection of tools (mostly metal working). It is one of the best primary sources for both the "Norse sea chest" and tools used in the Norse period. If I hadn't lent the book out, I could get the spelling and references down better.... I really should contact Chris and remind her that she has had to for about 2 years. -- -------------------------------------------------------- Personal e-mail is the n7bsn but at amsat.org This posting address is a spam-trap and seldom read RV and Camping FAQ can be found at http://www.ralphandellen.us/rv |

(Ralph=A0E=A0Lindberg) suspects: I suspect you have no idea what I was talking about, maybe due to my poor spelling of the name snip If I hadn't lent the book out snip And I suspects that I wonder just what would make you suspect that. In my post I did say, "Similar, but I believe this is longer". I would have suspected that would have been sufficient to make you suspect I knew what you were talking about - which I did. You can check the spelling at this link. The original link I posted, at least May 2002, has beem moved to this address, but otherwise it's the same. http://www.angelfire.com/wy/svenskil.../vikchest.html JOAT The first method of estimating the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him. - Niccolo Machiavelli |
