ideas for supporting long board to face of bench
I've occasionally seen adjustable supports for holding one end of a
board for edge planing; the other end is clamped to the face of the bench with a shoulder vise. Is there a standard term for such a support? More usefully, any pictures [urls] showing an idea I can copy/modify? I have a tail vise that can be used to hold it in place. Thanks -- Joe Riel |

My grandfather, and the cabinetmaker I worked with for a time in the UK, called them "board jacks": DAGS" "board jack workbench" -- eWoodShop: www.eWoodShop.com Wood Shop: www.e-WoodShop.net https://plus.google.com/114902129577517371552/posts http://www.custommade.com/by/ewoodshop/ KarlCaillouet@ (the obvious) |
