Shop Vac
Several years ago I bought a Shop Vac QPS 10. I have used it a lot
around the shop and yard. My problem is the switch gave up the ghost and I am trying to replace it. I went to a local part supply house and they said that they could get me the part 82318-10 for about $3 plus $9 shipping. High but reasonable. On all of the websites I have found, Shop Vac will gladly replace the motor assembly with the switch for about $70 but state they do not sell the switch separately. This is not a realistic solutions. Does anyone know of a replacement for the switch in the QPS10, or if the part from Sears 82318-10 will work in the QPS 10. I beleive it is for a Model # 338177750 Craftsman Shop vac Model # QMH45A - Shop Vac Shop-vac |

As long as you have one that will mount in the casing and will handle the current, it'll work. Most hardware stores will have switches that will work. I think Radio Shack still carries an assortment, too. -- -MIKE- "Playing is not something I do at night, it's my function in life" --Elvin Jones (1927-2004) -- http://mikedrums.com ---remove "DOT" ^^^^ to reply |

Shop Vac
Just put a normal switch in the housing. There's nothing special about
the switch. Any rocker switch will do, If it is larger cut out the case to fit it. If it is smaller, then put a piece of aluminum over the spot, drill it out or cut it out for the switch size. Attach it using screws. Who cares its a shop vac.. On 3/18/2012 11:18 PM, Keith Nuttle wrote: Several years ago I bought a Shop Vac QPS 10. I have used it a lot around the shop and yard. Art I'll third that. if you have access to a Radio Shack most have a wide variety of switches and you might find a close match. Otherwise just get one that works. Also, they are pretty reasonable. RonB I don't know if you have been in Radio Shack recently but it has become almost an electronic novelty shop. I went into the one here in Raleigh and they had a free standing shoulder high wall about 4' wide with the electronic components. |

Yeah - But it depends on the store. There is one in Wichita and another in Joplin that have pretty well stocked sets of parts drawers. Others barely amount to a kiosk. RonB |

Shop Vac
Yep, and the prices have gone through the roof.
I needed some quick connect bullet crimp connectors and wound up going across the street to home depot. Cheaper for the same items. And more per pack.
