iron-on name tags
Just wondering if anyone has had any success with iron-on name tags for
elderly relatives going into residential care? Reviews seem to be mixed so wondering if it would be better to get sew-on ones? Cheers - Pete |

Reviews seem to be mixed so wondering if it would be better to get sew-on ones? The iron on ones will work on suitable fabrics that will stand a hot iron but they may still fall off in a commercial laundry hot power wash after enough cycles. The trick is to get the glue melted uniformly. Obviously using iron on labels for woollen cardigans and jumpers is a lost cause. You pretty much have to sew them on. -- Regards, Martin Brown |

Almost zero issues so far except on sport socks where the "knit" of them seems to hasten the stickers demise.... -- Jim K ----Android NewsGroup Reader---- http://usenet.sinaapp.com/ |

There are, incidentally, suppliers of special clothing that will withstand care home washing or that has extra velcro etc openings so is easier to get on/off or open for toileting etc. Owain |

Thanks all. I'm now thinking perhaps a combination of iron-on and sew-on might be a good option for the assorted clothes. Yet another job to sort out. Cheers - Pete |
