I'm trying to read some old SATA drives using a Liteon Ultra enclosure.
windows disk management (Win10 Pro)sees the disk but says it needs to be
initialised, but trying to initialise as MBR fails.
Any ideas as to how to procede?
TIA Iain

Short answer. Are you sure the old SATA drives are NTFS and not in fact
FAT 32 ?

Win10 sees fat32 drives fine.

Googling "Win 10" and "FAT32" may answer your question and offer some
possible solutions assuming Linux doesn't do the trick. Which it may well
do, for all I know.

You're fortunate WIN10 refused to initialise the drives as that really
would have
been curtains.
