Default bike v pads

just bought a set of bike v brake pads......where you bolt them on seems to
be off centre...should the long side be to the front or back?,,,never seen
this kind before

Thanks for that completely superfluous proof that you
arent a very instinctive mechanic. imo its obvious that
the long side should go to the rear to minimise the
twisting effect when you apply the brake.
