Tightening leaking shower waste pipe in a tight space
I've just replaced the macerator in my bathroom, and the shower trap
has started to leak at one of the joints between the trap and the waste pipe. I guess I disturbed the joints during the replacement. Here's a pic of the trap and waste pipe under the shower: https://i1021.photobucket.com/albums...psoakvexcf.jpg My problem is that the space is very tight: I can only just about get my hand to the waste pipe connectors, and it's difficult to apply any force to tighten or undo them. Are there any tips on screwing / unscrewing pipe joints in confined spaces? Maybe some sort of special tool? |

Thinbking a strap wrench might be the answer. But those things should have rubber seals. Odd to leak even if loosely tightened. Good point - perhaps it would be better for me to undo and dismantle them (if I can) before re-fitting. |
