Default Wall mount cordless (DECT) phone.

I have a wall mount DECT phone branded Wharfdale. Really nice design - the
base station is a sort of half ball, and the docking part can be rotated
within that for either wall or table mount. And the wiring can go into a
cavity wall etc without showing. Think it came from Argos.

It still works, but seems to have a charging fault. The two AAAs are
getting pretty hot. Fitted new ones - same thing.

Anyone know where I can buy similar? Argos doesn't seem to list anything
said to be wall mount - and neither does Ebay.

It has to look good, though. Don't want something on a shelf or ugly
bracket with cables showing.

I think some of the Siemens Gigaset phones come with wall mount
chargers, our old[ish] a series one has a wall mount base.

I have two Gigaset C430 DECT phones where the GP750 batteries were
getting hot but the phones showed not charged. I changed the batteries
for Duracell ones and they now work fine. The phones and original
batteries are only about 18 months old.

That is because they always cook them by making the trickle charge more like
ariver charge, if you get my drift.

In the older ones they still supply grotty nicads too, but it seems the new
nickel metal hydrides do not really like the charging in the older systems
much.

Take a look at the Panasonics too - ISTR they have/had wall mountable
base stations. Only the satellites wall mount on mine though. Good phone
- must be 20 years old and replaced the batteries once. Just that I
almost never use it.

I looked at Panasonic on the Argos site - since I like that brand too. But
everything seemed to be the usual table mount bases. I'd like one which
looks like it was made specifically for wall mount rather than a bracket
to allow this.

The one I have at the moment is clever. It's a sort of half ball base. The
dock for the phone can be rotated between table or wall mount. So simple
I'm surprised they don't all have it.

+1 for Panasonic, but it fails on the "must look good" requirement when
wall mounted

If you go to www.ligo.co.uk you can search with wall mountable as one of the options and it comes up with 67 models of cordless with two handsets

I havent replaced mine at all.

I used to use mine multiple times a day but have just
changed over to using the mobile for all incoming
and outgoing calls now that I get unlimited calls
and texts to landlines and mobiles in my country
and to the 10 most important countrys in the world
for just $10 a month, and 1.5GB of data and can do
that anywhere I happen to be instead of just at home.

I currently have BT 2000s and they don't seem to cook batteries either.
They need a shelf though, havn't looked at the rest of the range.
(Reluctant to endorse BT, but these have been OK).
