Reviving a submarine cordless DECT phone
Hi,
After having acted as a submarine the phone seems to operate but is not able to create the connection with the base station. Furthermore battery life seems to be shorter. It has been drying for more than a month and I cleaned it wit alcohol. Until now without result. I would appreciate any suggestion to revive it. Best regards, Gerhard |

Grab your balls by the left hand here . . .
"as a submarine" means you dumped it in liquid. I don't understand how people can be so dense yet make any money to own these things. You are dealing with a two way telecommunication device dipwad, as such it has not only a recieving antenna, it transmits as well, that is when it works. That is when it has not been a submarine. I think the owner's manual has something to say about this, now if you think that "do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture" does not include dumping it totally into water, as Jeff Foxworthy said "here's your sign". You shorted out the antenna and probably the RF power outputs and you sat there and recharged it how many times while you KEPT DOING WHAT DID NOT WORK. FYI, when the connection is not established the base as well as the handset (ex-submarine) will crank up the transmit power until it works, or the battery dies. If you heed the warning "do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture", and realize that if it has acted as a submarine it has probably been exposed to moisture, anyone can deduce that you simply need to take about $25 down to the store and purchase a phone. Your phone is dead, kaput, devoid of life. It is totally deserving of it's final resting plae in the trash bin. It's life is over. (I knew you were going to ask, YES I like Monty Python) JURB |
