Default While we're waiting for the next "Project Binky" video...

... this may provide some amusement.

Only seen a few bits so far but it's about converting a sub-£500 Mark 10
Jag into a beast suitable for the "Rust to Rome" rally. I think a 6 litre
V12 engine creeps in somewhere. ;-)

It seems to just fizzle out with a motor that won't run at the end. :-(

I'd be very surprised if you could buy a Mk X Jag for £500 which was of
any use at all, other than for just a few spares. To get one which would
be economic to put back on the road would cost about 3 times that,

Staying in the EU would fix that for sure.

Alternatively just keep cutting and welding until it's back together,
without thinking how much your time would be worth if you were charging
yourself commercial rates.

There was a video of the finished(?) car setting off with a push on the
journey, and another video uploaded last week after a gap of about 6
months, possibly they just had to get on with the work and not spend so
much time filming?

Didn't look like it was going to be much of a journey.

The one from last week doesn't show it driving anywhere, the only
self-propelled Jag on that channel seems to be his XJS.

Quite. In other words, better to buy a car in reasonably sound condition
in the first place. But it is TV...

AIUI the competition rules imposed a £500 limit on the purchase price
of the car, but said nothing about how much work could be done to
prepare it, BICBW.

Isn't that one of the classic problems in DIY why are you doing it for fun or because it saves you money and/or time.

Ah. I suppose that makes sense to this sort of programme maker.
