As the f*****g typical brainless, red-necked American idiot [apparently], go
live in the woods, make your own tools by hand out of stone and use these to
build a shelter to live like they did in the stone age.

The knock-on effect of that will be very good as it will stop you posting
this rubbish due to lack of technology - oh, and you'll live a far shorter
life due to the lack of some very essential items of the modern day world -
one less belligerent American to deal with!

Yep the headers indicate that, but the way the rubbish is constructed
indicates that it originated from an American hand - the time zone also
indicates that - but that may just be the gmail servers putting that in
automatically after passing through a Turkish ISP.

Any electric vehicle will need electricity which has to be generated so you
are not gaining anything. Of course there is always nuclear generating
plant. With hybrids you are paying to transport two engines - one internal
combution and one electric. What these people do not understand is that
charging battieries gives off an explosive vapour which is also harmfull to
humans. Having worked with electric vehicles another danger is that for
many years people tend to listen for approaching vehicles first. This makes
the pedestrian step off in front of oncoming electric vehicles.

cycling home. All the trendiest Greenistas wear womble outfits 24/24 .

47. Find some yellow snow in the woods, take it home and melt it in
the fridge to save electricity. Dedicated Greenistas say "It's good
for you".

48. Don't go to bed in a wet vest, don't read wet copies of the
Grauniad.

49. Don't waste electricity, have a bull**** filter fitted to your
radio in case Monbiot comes on..

50. Attend all the Greenistas conferences at Rio, Singapore,
Chamonix, Lausanne, wherever. Travel first class every time and always
stay in 5 star hotels. Thus setting a good example and demonstrating

Very few Americans will reference Celsius - Fahrenheit is still in
common use there - and much of the phrasing is not standard American.

Ah yes, spelling errors. They're what you get when you write,
for example, "gramatical". :-)

As you can see, English speakers are hardly exempt from making
spelling and grammatical mistakes, and often make more of them
than do non English speakers.

but more importantly, wrong use of words.

OK, that's a different matter.

Are you sure you're not getting confused with the BBC World Service (in
the days when it was The European Service of the BBC and The General
Overseas Service).

"The next programme is the news in English, r e a d s l o w l y"

I used to find it was an excellent way of absorbing the news, as the
pace was not so slow as to be annoying but gave the brain just that
little bit of extra time to concentrate.

These days I hear the start of the news and, by the time I realise
what's happening, they've got to the weather summary and I haven't taken
in a thing!

An intereresting experiment, when I was in my teens, was to listen to
the news from Radio Moscow and The Voice of America. Then listen to the
news from the BBC - often it was only then that you could connect the
other two!

Actually, the batteries in these things don't generate gas during

And the gas generated is hydrogen - which is harmless, unless it gets to
a 5% or so concentration whereupon the least spark removes the roof from
your house. The poison you've seen in the old war movies is chlorine,
which you get when you run a current through salt water - quite likely
in a sinking submarine, less likely in a Prius.

The rest of your points look perfectly valid though - and you've missed
out the cost of providing a widespread network of charging points,
upgrading the grid to cope, and building new power stations. Which it
looks like we're going to be short of anyway.

Voice of America used to broadcast the news in "Special English"
which simply meant i t w a s r e a d v e r y s l o w l y

Are you sure you're not getting confused with the BBC World Service (in
the days when it was The European Service of the BBC and The General
Overseas Service).

"The next programme is the news in English, r e a d s l o w l y"

IIRC "Here is the news read at slow speed"

Very few Americans will reference Celsius - Fahrenheit is still in
common use there - and much of the phrasing is not standard American.

It has an identical feel about it to the outpourings of the
leftpondian fanatic who posts stuff here about (lightening) surge
arrestors, which is totally inappropriate to the UK power distribution
system. Who continues nevertheless as if he was totally oblivious of
the existence of the rest of the world bar the USA.

IOW As everybody knows everybody everywere does everything the
American way.

Nah. Written by a non English speaker. There are spelling and
gramatical errors but more importantly, wrong use of words...

Rather suspect it's an american troll post. It's all over the place,
http://tiny.cc/q39id
and never seems to respond, best to just ignore....
