Same here!

Ordered £2 worth, and received 40 of them!

And tips on storing them so they won't perish in the little paper envelope?

Would putting them in a sealed zip-loc bag, in a dark draw be the best
option?

T'was I who posted the ebay link.
I keep my O ring stocks in 50grm tobacco tins. No signs of deterioration
over 20 years plus. So any cool, dark and airtight location should be
similar. Mine have a whitish powdery coating from new so a dusting of
chalk, talc, baby powder etc might help too.

Try "hozelock o rings" in an ebay search.

E.g.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/50-HOZELOCK-GA...item5880ccf73b

I don't know if that was the original ebay source, but it looks like
the right things at a better price than hoselock replacements.

I think the original Ebay link was to item 200345021257. It looks like you
need go for the multibuy option to get 40 for the price of 2 at £1.98, but
check the ordering details at the bottom of the page.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Jim K
saying something like:

Remember when superglue came out? The ads used to feature a gymnast
sticking the ends of a rubber extrusion together and then swinging on the
loop made. At the time there were 'o'-ring kits, with lengths of different
thicknesses of rubber that you just cut to size and looped with the
superglue. This was handier than having to keep buying boxes of assorted
rings, most of which you never needed (top of my list were thin rings that
actually fitted inside the valve guides of my Ducati, and didn't last v
long...). Wonder if you can still just buy the rubber and make them
yourself? (not Ducatis: they were made out of other stuff)

Ah, still around then: but that 'kit' looks rather OTT on price!
Didn't know what to call the rubber: 'cord' doesn't sound right either.
As for the 'cord' on it's own, we'd have to take care it wasn't the foamy
stuff, but well found, and much more sensibly priced.
