I have been looking for information on availability and uses of glue or adhesive in newsgroups, any

Closest usenet group is sci.engr.joining.misc, might be something on
Yahoo or Google groups. Would be kind of a low-traffic topic. Really
your best bet is to get on Google groups and search for your topic,
check out a few of the groups and see if its what you want.

Are you gluing wood, metal, or all kinds of things? There is a PDF of a
recent (2005), 66-page paper on gluing wood from the Forest Products
Laboratory that covers everything most people would want to know:

http://www.evenfallstudios.com/woodw..._adhesives.pdf

As for metal, I wrote a 12-page article on the subject for _American
Machinist_, but that was 30 years ago and it's hopelessly out-of-date. There
have been many developments since then. Your best source is the engineers at
the major companies -- 3M, Dow, etc. I've had good luck over the years just
calling those companies and asking to speak to a technical expert on the
subject. They're usually glad to help.

Good luck.

Ditto!

I once called the people who make Excel One and spoke to one
of their people.

I actually SPOKE to a real live person!!

And he knew his stuff cold. Coverage rates...

A really great experience these days when
"Press 1 for customer service.... " seems to
be the rule.

I don't 'think' there is a newsgroup... but Wikipedia had a pretty good
overview of adhesives:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adhesive

Below is from the 'External Links' of the above article, and at a quick
glance also looks to be pretty good:

http://www.adhesives.org/

Good Luck!
