Default Chlorine-proof gasket material. Suggestions??

OK, so I didn't like the look f the blue toilet bowl cleaner so I got
some clear stuff with Bleach in it. I checked the back of the package
and it said, "Safe for Plumbing. Safe for Septic systems if used as
per instructions"

So, a month later and it is time to put in a new pill. Shock-horror,
the rubber gaskets around the inlet and outlet are all split and
shredding. I am going to need to replace the gaskets with something
else. Also need to check the flapper.

Any suggestions on Chlorine-proof gasket material?

I did some research and Neoprene does not seem to cut it either.

The Chlorine works great, smells good, SO Likes it and the bowl is
sparkly white all the time. If I can't get a flapper that is
impervious to chlorine I will have to drop it. Bummer. (pun intended)

Sure it's chlorine? Lots of bleaches out there with no chlorine in
them, it's the free oxygen radicals that do the bleaching, after all.
Should have a list of ingredients. Bisulfite is popular, too. I dump
chlorine bleach in the toilet all the time for cleaning, no problem.
Just don't mix the two...

The rubber gaskets in swimming pool filters are supposed to be covered with
silicone grease to prevent deterioration. You can find it in any pool store.

I imagine silicone rubber would be more resistant than neoprene.

What's that Lassie? You say that Dave, I can't do that fell down the
old rec.crafts.metalworking mine and will die if we don't mount a

Look for "never scrub toilet cleaner".

It goes inline with the refill tube from the fill valve. No bleach in
the tank, just the bowl.

It can degrade your float valve if it's plastic.

Nope, not sure but the labels says Active ingredient is Trichloro-s-
triazinetrione whatever that is.

Check this out, leaking gaskets could have been the least of my
problems...

Thanks guys,

I am going back to scrubbing with cleaner once a week. Probably better
for the septic system anyway.
