Posting from Google this time because Teranews seems to not be passing
my posts and replies through - at least I've not seen anything I've posted for the past week or two show up. Very odd (anyone else having teranews problems?) meanwhile,: here,s the ebay link - I started the auction at 99 cents to be certain it sells. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=300260124243 -- Bill www.wbnoble.com |

If so, then you might consider moving to newsguy, which is offering a free month of service to those who have been abandoned by this latest cutback. Another one just recently cut off all alt.* groups, which would at least let this continue on through. here,s the ebay link - I started the auction at 99 cents to be certain it sells. 1. yes, there is no reserve on these magazines, I want them to sell
2. - Teranews is a news service, not an ISP, so it would be odd if they dropped news service, no? (they are at www.teranews.com - they don't have any current reports of issues, an I'm not getting error messages - I'm just not seeing my stuff come through. Very odd. On Sep 19, 6:34*pm, "DoN. I tried to post this through Teranews but no go so far. Thanks Bill for the heads up on using google which is how this has been done. John. |

Sadly, the auction of the magazines likely means some one left us recently. Anyone we might have known? Wes |

There were several threads a couple of months back about filters to block reception of posts from Google Groups due to the immense number of SPAM posts from there. You might want to consider a different news service... |

here,s the ebay link - I started the auction at 99 cents to be certain it sells. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=300260124243 It will go for far more than I bid but I got things started. * Sadly, the auction of the magazines likely means some one left us recently. *Anyone we might have known? Wes These magazines came from an estate in the northern part of Thousand Oaks, near Cal Lutheran College - A couple passed on, were quite elderly - I didn't know either but a friend did - they left behind quite a few tons of stuf they had collected - a lot of books, machine tools, wood working stuff, and materials of all kinds. The one child (well, maried with children) took a few items and asked another elderly friend of the family to sell what was left. They asked that the magazines be saved for them, but on the day escrow closed and the title to the house transferred, they still had not come back to get them and gave no inducation that they wanted them - so my friend and I got them to offer to someone who could use them. I don't see much evidence that the deceased really did much metal working - he had a small mill but no metal lathe. There is a moral here - many dumpsters worth of "good stuff" went to the land fill - make a will, give your suff away, don't die and leave it all in place to annoy your kids. anyway, I seriously doubt that anyone on this NG knew this couple, and I am pretty sure that they were very light users of the internet if they used it at all. hope that helps answer the question, and I hope that we all consider my moral above - It's great for me to make some $$ because no one can be bothered to pick the stuff up and resell it, but it is actually much better for the stuff to go slowly over a decade to those who will love and use it. |

Mark Rand RTFM mark - sad to say, I'd be happy to ship them to the UK - postage will be in the general vicinity of $100, I'd have to weigh them to be sure. I don't think it would be more, it might be $75 or so. |
