Hot water
I just bought a home that is 5 years old. The hot water outlet gets hot but no
hot water comes out the hot water side of the faucet. Only cold water. It has a Talco cartridge circulator. The valves are upen everywhere, even the one hidden in the wall. See pic. Any ideas? https://www.homeownershub.com/img/gl https://www.homeownershub.com/img/gm |

The hot water outlet gets hot but no It might be covered by your sales contract, but I'm curious, What is the "hot water outlet"? hot water comes out the hot water side of the faucet. Which faucet? Do you have other hot water faucets in the home? Do they have hot water coming out of them? Only cold water. It has a Talco cartridge circulator. The valves are upen everywhere, even the one hidden in the wall. See pic. Any ideas? https://www.homeownershub.com/img/gl You have more pipes than I do. I guess that's what happens with newer houses. https://www.homeownershub.com/img/gm What is this a picture of? |

Fix what broke or have your real estate agent make it right. You just "bought" it. Yeah, good luck with that. Absent some guarantee, which is rare for a house that isn't new and being sold by the builder, the seller isn't obligated to fix something like this, just because it's not working after the sale. And you Oren would be among the first to tell the buyer to get lost. Me, I'm left wondering how the hot water "outlet" could get hot with no hot water flowing out the faucet. I'd assume they are one and the same thing, so how does it get hot, with no hot water flowing out? |

I'd assume they are one and the same thing, so how does it get hot, with no hot water flowing out? I just realized that the poster provided pics and just looked at them, but it's still very confusing and little info is provided. The pics are of the water heater area and don't show any "outlet" or faucet. They do show a circulation pump, intended to move hot water to far away faucets to get hot water their and available so that there is very little delay in getting hot water. It's there all the time or select hours, so that you don't have to wait. That could explain how the faucet gets hot. A blockage in the faucet on the hot side could explain the lack of any water flowing when it's turned on. Assuming that the problem is one faucet where hot water does not flow, the other faucets work, etc. |
