Did you replace with the same type of fixture? 4 Foot fluorescent with 4
foot LEDs or did you use another style fixture? Can the LEDs be replaced
with a different K value? If so, then that's what I suggest instead of
trying to cover or reduce the brightness with tape or another method of
obstruction.

Also noted, the suggestion of adding a dimmer switch if the LEDs are
dimmable.

I have some LED Christmas lights that are too bright. Some will be
dimmer with a diode in series (since it passes a little less that one
half of the AC cycle). Make sure voltage and current capacity is OK.

Perhaps people are choosing it because that's what they had no choice
but to accept in the past (AFAIK, real white incandescents are possible,
but are hotter and much less efficient). Now we have something better

The human eye can only see so many colors. Some folks are color blind
so red, green may look different.

I use "daylight" LED's at the home entry / driveway at night. Cost
less and helps light the neighbors yard.
