Oh my.

'A Florida man is behind bars after he was busted with a milk crate,
according to a report.

The crate was attached to a bicycle that Timothy Troller was riding
when he was stopped in Auburndale Thursday night by a deputy with the
Polk County Sheriff’s Office, WFLA-TV reports."

At least they didn't shoot the guy.

The long rap sheet part sorta makes one wonder if they saw an excuse to
stop him and (for once) he was clean.

I'd think they would wait until he had two milk crates and get him on
a serious charge.

Another report says that it may have been stolen.

Cop arrested a guy driving a stolen car. Judge said to cop, "Did you
see him steal it?" Cop says, "No." So judge sentences guy to 30 days
suspended sentence for driving the car without the owner's permission.

True, but the rest of the story is outlined here if anyone is
interested.

Good that she did not have to pay, but it never should have gotten that
far. Police should be going after major crimes like this one

I wonder what the penalty for 'possession with intent to drink milk' is
these days?

His accommodations changed from a crate to a cage.

Reason Magazine appears to be a libertarian publication.

I call that a case in point to support the idea that one has to choose
their inputs with some care.

politifact needs scrutiny too. Had Sensenbrenner been a Democrat his
story might have been scored as 'mostly true' with a gentle correction
of areas where he misspoke.

I happened to browse the recent issue of Reason at the library
yesterday. Yes, it is a libertarian magazine with a slight whiff of Rand
on occasion.

For a misdemeanor charge? Jails need room for Felons. Jails get busy
for real problems.

All they had to do was issue a summons to appear and release him on
his "Own Recognizance" Release".

If the cop was "looking" for a felony. he dropped the ball and ****ed
off the jailer that did the strip search :-\
