Default Georgia man runs into buring home

"COLUBUS, Georgia – A man who walks with a cane was not injured when
he ran into a burning Columbus house to recover beer he left inside
the house.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire that broke out
Thursday afternoon. Residents of the home say they believe the fire
was caused by a water heater."

"...he was able to escape without being burned and managed to save
several cans of beer."

Must be a Brit. The beer would have been too warm for anyone else to
drink.

Some months ago my wife was in the hospital ICU. I saw a food tray with
beer cans on it. You can get beer and wine through the pharmacy if you
need it.

When I was a very neophyte nurse working in a psych unit that also did
some SA work, I noted that one of the as needed medications listed on
administration record was "spirits fermenti" for DTs. Haven't yet had
the caring beaten out of me by the system, I looked through the various
reference books to no use. I then called down to the pharmacy and asked
the Pharmacist if they could send up the package insert for the
medication for my reference.
The reply: "Jack Daniels doesn't come with a package insert."

Chuckle..

.... a funny thing happened. Two inmates were given a shot of sterile
water in the ass cheek. Both of them calmed down and went to sleep.

Funny how that works

As I keep telling people, the placebo effect is STILL an effect. This
same doc would often RX tryptophan (the active ingredient in turkeys)
for his SA people. His theory was that most SA people needed SOMETHING
to hold on to because they were convinced that they couldn't face life
on their own. Trytophan served that purpose, was cheap, and as the doc
noted the "only major side effect was a tendency to get nervous around
Thanksgiving".

I didn't have a budget to work with. I called the on-duty PA-C and
told her to bring me a sterile syringe of water. The guy on the
receiving end was disturbing the tranquility of his prison cell.

No need for a complicated study. He went to sleep and the rest of my
shift was orderly

Kurt, I'm sorry to hear you lost caring because of administration
behavior. I've told my friends in the medical field that I considered
pediatric trauma specialists to be angels. I couldn't understand how
they could do a job that would have me and many others blinded by the
tears from seeing a child suffering from terrible injuries. It takes a
special person to be able to do such a job and I doubt they're in the
field just for the money like some specialists have told me of their
reasons to work in a particular field. o_O

LOL.

A man I worked under would tell me stories of his time at a federal
prison medical facility in the '60's. They kept jugs of liquid
Thorazine (oral) on the block.

As a SA advisor, for my church, I'll have to reccommend that.
And, yes, most SA (single adults) get nervous around

Much of GA was dry on Sunday but that's pretty much a thing of the
past (though fairly recent in the Atlanta area). There is one city on
the North side of Atlanta that's still dry on Sunday but I expect that
to change this year (the city fathers have finally agreed to put it on
the ballot). I believe it's been many years since Columbus went wet.
