I do enjoy his music. Don't know much about his
real life, or anything like that.

Interesting to see him at a younger age. I didn't
recognize him, glad he sang. I recognized the voice.

Big fan here. His singing voice got much better later in life.
Never made enough money to buy a new guitar tho. :-)

See him several times in concert. Last time was with Ray Price and

If not for Willie and the "outlaw" thing I'd be listening to Krafwerk.

We saw him at Hoosier Park and IIRC it was something like $45. I have
seen a couple of Palladium shows and I wasn't terribly impressed with
the acoustics given the amount of money they allegedly spent.

Back in those days they kidnapped and tortured injuns. In God We Trust was shoved down everybody's throats. Poor Willie cannot put the dice away. When he was a kid he wore farmer jeans and cut the pockets out. Now he just gets stuck at the casino.

Wellllllllll....my daughter, being an all-star ticket shopper, got
tickets last night for herself, her hubby and us. Daughter has been
invited on-stage at a couple of concerts, most notably at a Beach Boys
concert, whereupon Glen Campbell asked her if she'd like to travel with
them. So long ago.

I've never attended a live concert, so being up front for W.N. will be
awesome....Roll me up and smoke me when I die )

The concert at HP was great. He went straight through for about 2
hours including encores. I would think it might be even better given the
Palladium's MUCH more intimate settings. Thinking about maybe seeing
Steve Winwood there.

I recall hearing of a rock musician mixing his father's ashes with the
dope he was smoking as a way to honor his dad. Now some other musician
must come up with something more bizarre and outrageous than that. O_o

Keith Richards from The Rolling Stones. Remaining ashes were buried

Oh yea, that may be the bizarre ritual I was thinking of where Richards
mixed his father's ashes with cocaine then snorted the concoction.
Perhaps some other drug crazed musician will mix a parent's or loved
one's ashes with heroin then inject it. O_o

Been awhile since I saw the television interview. He was on cocaine,
spilled the ashes by accident, decided they looked like cocaine, so he
snorted a line.

Rumor was that Keith Richards did so....explained in his autobiography,
but I don't recall the discussion now. I'm sure he denied smoking dad,
but I suspect there were days that he didn't know what he was smoking.

When I researched W.N. online, I discovered that he has written several
books....will have to check them out. Richards was decently honest in
his book, IMO. I'm not a real rock "fan", but have read about a few.
David Crosby might have been the wildest drug user, freebasing on a
commercial plane flight. I started reading Craig Ferguson's book, but
it was the same old story...use/bust/lose/recover. I like Craig. I
love Willie....I may forget how old I am )

For at least the last 30 years, there has been no consensus among the
medical types or the rock press as to whether KR was alive or just
undead (grin).

I wonder if he may be an outer space alien pod person who took over a
young human's body decades ago, found that it liked being human because
there was no fun on its planet? It doesn't want to return yet and Outer
Space Galactic Command is very displeased with the pod person which has
refused to give up the body of Keith Richards. ^_^

I lost my friend GB a few years ago to slow suicide. He was a 71 year
old juvenile delinquent who lost a lung to lung cancer. He couldn't put
the damn cigarets down and the only time he would eschew tobacco was
when he came down with pneumonia only to go back to purposely inhaling
the byproducts of combustion from the things many people imbibe. He hid
his smoking from his wife, his daughters, his sisters and me because he
knew we would chew him out for it. Any odor was always blamed on the
other guys we knew who smoked like choo choo trains. I'm terribly
allergic to the smoke from anything people purposely set afire so they
can inhale it in order to get the drugs contained in the smoke. Most
folks who smoke aren't necessarily nasty about it but some are and don't
care if their fumes hurt other people or worse, their children. I must
remind friends who smoke to get downwind of me all the time because they
forget the cigaret is in their hand. I don't allow smoking in any of my
vehicles but smokers always pull out that cigaret when they get in a car
because it's such an ingrained habit and I have to remind them of my
allergy to the poison. I realize that nicotine is a highly addictive
drug that is very difficult for smokers to stop using and I understand
their problem but I'll never understand how anyone could begin inhaling
the byproducts of combustion from anything to start with. Why, why do
they do it when it's well know that smoking injuries them? O_o

Default OT, Any Willie Nelson Fans?

When I researched W.N. online, I discovered that he has written several
books....will have to check them out. Richards was decently honest in
his book, IMO. I'm not a real rock "fan", but have read about a few.
David Crosby might have been the wildest drug user, freebasing on a
commercial plane flight. I started reading Craig Ferguson's book, but
it was the same old story...use/bust/lose/recover. I like Craig. I
love Willie....I may forget how old I am )

Ozzie Osborne might compete with Crosby on the druggie scale.

Default OT, Any Willie Nelson Fans? Here it comes

The Daring Dufas posted for all of us...

And I know how to SNIP

I wonder if he may be an outer space alien pod person who took over a
young human's body decades ago, found that it liked being human because
there was no fun on its planet? It doesn't want to return yet and Outer
Space Galactic Command is very displeased with the pod person which has
refused to give up the body of Keith Richards. ^_^

Wellll..........the night before our concert date, my son checked
Willie's website....cancelled due to illness. Dang! Rescheduled for
August, 2014! I might not be around by then, not to mention WN's
advanced age ) Think I'll check out Meatloaf's concert schedule.
