Harry, STFU. Off topic for home repair means car repair, not politics.
Politics is so far OT that even marking it OT doesn't give you license
to post it here. It's bad enough that 50% of ON topic threads
deteriorate into politics without starting off that way. Take it
somewhere else.

Hypocrisy gets a bad rap. Half of gynecologists are men.

Still, claiming hypocrisy fits the liberal narrative: if you can't attack
the facts, attack the messenger

Now that I've looked at the video, I find it quite rational and it
appears that Harry is totally confused about what is happening and who
issued it.

He's in the killfile along with a dozen or two of the other idiots who
respond to his trolling. My tolerance is about near zero at this point;
I've seen too many groups ruined by politics.

Now ask yourself why an Obama administration would put out such
Propaganda. What that feller said was more like Faux Newz propaganda.

He is getting you all primed up for your next war. (N. Korea, Iran?)
He is part of the military establishment that only prospers when there

He is trying to justify the lies, incompetance and corruption that got

Harry, get a grip or SHUT UP!

The drivel on that Web site is NOT put out by the U.S. govt, but by a
private nut-case outfit. Even you could see that if you tried.

For the skinny on Ret. Gen Boykin, go to:

http://www.commondreams.org/views04/0520-03.htm

He is one of the extreme, extreme Christian Right nutcases infecting
the military. How he ever got his stars, hard to understand!
But he's one of a not-so-secretive Christian Right cabal that
persecutes soldiers who don't share their view.

For more info on this REALLY REALLY scary situation in the U.S.
military, go to:

Military Religious Freedom Foundation at mrff.com

You will be shocked, horrified, and -- one hopes -- moved to join the
fight.

The party line is justification/obfuscation for their past
incompetance/greed.
Seems to think that being/been a green beret makes him (a) a great and
admirable hero and (b) an expert in all matters.
The hypocricsy bit is he was probably involved in/ participated in
organising the American training of terrorists in places like
Afghanistan, Honduras, Salvador and Guatemala. Probably with a bit of
torture training thrown in.
The US green berets have gone downhill a long way since they were set
up in the UK in WW2 Poisoned by American republican politicians.

Ok, I looked at your links. I can see this Boykin is a nut, working
for nuts which is my point.
What exactly are your views about this MRFF organisation?
As an aside I saw a documentary on Al Jazeera that portrayed thousands
of American soldiers in a stadium of some sort. (missed the opening
few minutes) It was some kind of religious thing. They were all
moaning and waving their arms in the air whilst some kind of religious
nut ranted on. They had brought their weapons to be "blessed".
Mad.
Religion is the root of most evil.

What exactly are your views about this MRFF organisation?

My views should be pretty obvious, as I recommended people go to their
Web site MRFF.org and support them.

The founder, Mikey Weinstein, an Air Force graduate (as are his
children), started MRFF in dismay at the fanatic Christian religious
Right (which aren't very "Christian"; they act more like a Christian
version of Al Quaida!!).

He gets hundreds of emails from-- surprise! mostly CHRISTIAN serving
military, who are being persecuted by their fanatic superiors.
Far from being only Jews, Muslims, Agnostics, or whatever, these
soldiers trying only to serve their country are being abused,
threatened, intimidated by their fanatic superiors.

I don't understand how the US military lets this continue! Unless
they share the fanatics' views.

As to the Air Force Academy, the religious persecution there is an
old, old story. Mikey and his supporters have been fighting for years
to change the culture there, such that a young man or woman seeking to
serve their country are not discriminated against and their career
threaened.

As an aside I saw a documentary on Al Jazeera that portrayed thousands
of American soldiers in a stadium of some sort. (missed the opening
few minutes) It was some kind of religious thing. They were all
moaning and waving their arms in the air whilst some kind of religious

Mad.

Your anecdote only bears out my theme: There ARE soldiers who are
religious fanatics, but:

1. I would take anything on Al Jazera cum grano salis. Check out
stuff like that on Snopes.

2. Were those soldiers there of their own will, or -- as I AM TRYING
TO CONVEY -- were they intimidated into participating.

Religion is the root of most evil.

Err...We can debate till the cows come home why some religious people
are kind and generous, and others are greedy, vicious, fanatic. I
suspect it has more to do with their home upbringing.

Right then. I agree with your points completely. Right wing religious
fanaticism in America is amazing to Europeans. The UK is a virtually
secular society. (Also without morals, the two may well be linked).
We were looking forward to a visit from Terry Jones but only to
lampoon him, the newspapers/TV here would have a field day. I now
hear he may not be coming. Still the Palin witch may come. I hope to
see her on TV, our interviewers will give her a hard time I can tell
you, we hate politicians.
I visited America (Iowa) a few years back to see my e-friend.
Everybody I met was amazingly kind and generous. It was explained to
me however that the folks on the E&W coasts are quite nasty. (Heh
Heh)
