Time is money.

Money is money. It is unlikely you will EVER recover the differential cost
of a hybrid or an electric car. Minimizing greenhouse gases is a fool's
errand.

30.Use public means of transport

Never. It merely encourages our betters to do more of it. In my town,
comparing tax load for mass transit, average rider trip, and number of
riders, it would be cheaper to send every bus or light rail rider to their
destination by taxi cab!

38.Go Local

Worrying about CO2 emissions is a fool's errand. You cannot convince the
ordinary housewife that driving to the next county to save twenty-cents on a
bunch of bananas is a bad idea.

On a related note, I got a thing from my Power company noting that
about 75% of the costs of electricity to these things is when they are
(officially) off. Decided to save some coin by unplugging or turnoff the
power strip. Decided not to do it ever again when I spent about 20
minutes the next re-programming things.

Yes, that was a rather stupid 'tip' from the original squirrely

Dear Hints from Heloise.

Vote out the idiots in Congress who keep blocking oil production on US
soil, and coastal areas. We have plenty of energy, but the Jimmy
Carter types of the world want us all to wear sweatters and turn down
the heat. Vote their buns out.

1. Unless you have allergies or arthritis in which case you are going
to aggravate your condition.
2. Just don’t forget to change the battery once a year.
3. When it comes to walls if your house doesn’t have them the only way
to insulate them is to punch a holes in them to stick an insulation
hose.
4. You really have to love to crawl on your hands and knees in tight
dark, damp dusty and very hot places.
5. Oil the hinge a little when you do so that it doesn’t rust on you
when you hopefully remember to open it again.
6. Just remember the audit guy is dumber than you are.
7. Make sure the double pane window are of good quality because if
anything gets between those two panes you’re in trouble.
8. What ever happened to good old fashioned wood shutters?
9. Be ready to replace the awning fabric every ten years because the
UV rays are going to destroy it, especially if you live in the South
West.
10. Just hire the neighbors kid to rake the leaves.
11. You must love bugs because bugs love warm cozy spaces like between
the wall and the aluminum sheet.
12. Like the range.
13. Just don’t buy perishables at wholesale.
14. Just make sure the dog, cat, flies, ants etc. don’t get into it.
15. Bar anyone under eighteen from opening the fridge.
16. Hopefully your condenser coil is in the back and not under or
above or you’re going to have a ball cleaning it.
17. Just don’t move around too much at night because you are going to
be turning lights on and off non stop and that’s what wears out CFLs
the most.
18. See # 16.
19. Just remember the engineers at Energy Star are dumber than you
are.
20. The engineers at Energy Star came up with that.
21. DUHH
22. Good luck doing a thorough job or without tearing it.
23. Just make sure you clean the leaves from the INSIDE once a year if
you’re using a shade tree for that.
24. Just retire you’ll have plenty of time to walk.
25. Especially if you live in an inner city affluent neighborhood
expect to get the finger all day.
26. That all depends on the temperature outside. You’ll destroy your
engine if it’s a very cold day.
27. Save fuel yes but safer? Wasn’t Firestone saying the exact
opposite several years back.
28. Your car isn’t complicated enough and your mechanic could use a
trip to Europe this year.
29. Hopefully those $35.000 batteries will come down is price in ten
years.
30. You want to experience how your grandparents coped with bed bugs.
31. Just ask the cookware salesperson to fix you.
32. Especially with eggs.
33. The neighbors will love it.
34. You don’t mind contracting things like MRSA or fungal diseases do
you?
35. Just make sure the “plug board” has a long enough cord so you
don’t have to crawl after its switch.
36. Just turn in your laptop for a desktop.
37. You like moving furniture.
38. All depends on where you live.
39. Just make sure to update your virus protection every few months
and update your computer every year so it can handle your updated
virus protection.
40. I wonder why they say NOT to leave the Turkey at room temperature
to defrost it every Thanksgiving/
41. I always get passive under the hot sun.
42. Get a black trash bin, stick a hose in the bottom, connect it to
the shower, take it up to the roof, fill it with water eh voilà.
43. Flush out your water heater thoroughly every year so that the
money you save on electricity or gas will be spent on water.
44. Just tear up the walls if they’re not insulated already.
45. Like growing your own vegetables.
