Showerhead drips off and on occasionally during the night
4 year old american standard shower *single handle" faucet with shower
head in shower stall. The dang thing out of the blue just starts dripping in the middle of the night for a short blast and then stops again. Is the likely just the washer in the faucet or might it be something in the shower head? |

No, it's the municipal water pressure. In the middle of the night nobody is using much water, so the pressure goes up. You should have a regulator installed at the water meter before something blows up. |

Oh, don't say that. He'll have nightmares for years.

Maybe both Extrol tank, and also regulator. Of course, you
could always leave the faucet dripping in the cellar sink. Or do what I do, get up and use the potty a couple times every night, and remember to flush. -- Christopher A.
